  1. Then you. No he was my only one. I did some reading lay night about DGIV and it said the disease can linger in the tank and to wait before adding fish of thy same species. Do you have any idea how long i should wait. I was thinking of adding a Bolivian or GBR, or possibly and apisto for a new center piece.
  2. Thank you everybody for the help Unfortunately he did not make it. About 10 minutes after I read the suggestions my daughter saw him laying on the bottom of the tank
  3. Thank you for the fast response. If it is that and if incurable how long does he have even with treatment. Also do I need to be concerned about thy other fish
  4. I noticed these white spots on my gourami this morning. When I got home from work he looks to be bloated and having a hard time swimming. Does anybody have any idea what it could be. TIA
  5. I agree with @ARMYVET. Being an electrician myself if you have the space to put a sub panel in i would. Based on the pics of your panel you should have room. You may need to have an electrician come out and move a circuit from the right side to the left where that spare is to balance the load and open up a two pole slot for your sub panel.
  6. From what I figured what you have listed is runt around 14.5 amps. To me that's pushing the allowable current draw of the circuit. I would advise running another 20 amp circuit with 12Awg for the heater and then put the rest of the equipment on the 15 amp circuit
  7. Yes am Amazon sword and the others they i can't remember the name of. With a couple runners coming off the Amazon sword
  8. The tank is a 25 gallon kit that i got from a chain pet store. So nothing special. It has been cycled since March. Ammonia and Nitrite are 0 Nitrate hovers between 20-60. Ph is stable at 7.2. The stock of the tank is 4mollies, 5cherry barb, 3Cory cats 2 mystery snails and a BN pleco. The light is on for about 10 hours a day. I run it on when I get up to feed and turn it off when I get home. I feed once a day a mixture of vibra bites, shrimp pellets and crab cuisine. Three times a week I drop a chunk of snailo in as well.
  9. Lately I have noticed my tank looks a little green. I noticed green algea starting to develop on my drift wood and on some of the plants. My snails(mystery) don't seem interested in it, neither does my BN pleco. The fish seem healthy and active so I know it's not bothering them i just wild like to get rid of this. Any suggestions?
  10. Something else you can use to feed is Snello. I made my own from this recipe https://steemit.com/snails/@snailshack/for-the-aquatic-snail-keeper-snello-recipe It makes quite a lot and my two snails will eat an entire 3/4 × 3/4 ×1/4 square in about an hour and a half.
  11. Sorry for your loss. I was routing for him.
  12. I was worried about that too being that my tank was freshly cycled. It didn't harm anything and I never saw ammonia spikes from it killing my bacteria. But technically if you are just setting up the tank there won't be any bacteria to kill of.
  13. API makes the aquarium salt and to use it i just took a tablespoon and added 1 per 2 gallons along with the meds.
  14. Here is a link to a video from Aquariumcoop for a quick hospital tank set up
  15. Thanks for asking. Yes he did pull though. It took a couple days on the meds for him to come around. If you use the life guard I would pull the fish. Life guard is not suitable for scaleless fish which i think loaches are considered. Also the salt probably would not be a good thing. I'm not sure about general cure as I have never used it. But to be safe I would say if you can make a quick hospital tank that would be best
  16. I recently just brought home a betta that wasn't doing well. Acting the same as yours. I would get the temp up to 80. Also I would treat him with meds. Either API general cure or what I used Tetra Life Guard(same as general cure just docent manufacturers) also add some aquarium salt. 1 tablespoon for 2 gallons. Hope he pulls through
  17. I recently brought home a betta that was not doing so well too. I ended up treating with meds and aquarium salt and that seemed to get him back on the right track. I agree with @Colu. I had a very picky (possibly because he wasn't feeling well) betta. I tried every food for bettas and ended up with hikari bio gold.
  18. Fish less is definitely the way to go if you don't have seeded material. You can use a product called Dr.Tims ammonium chloride. You dose the tank to 2ppm and you can add some beneficial bacteria to get your tank cycle started. Once you are showing 0 ammonia dose the tank again to 1ppm. When you show 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites in 24 hrs your tank is cycled.
  19. I was wondering how long it will twit to remove meds from my 5 gallon tank. Instructions on the box(Tetra Lifeguard) just say on day six do a 25% and replace activated carbon and uv lights. I don't run either of those on my tanks on a regular basis. I was gong to hook up a Aldo HOB with purigen if the will work as is already in a nice little bag. I just would like to know how long I need to use the to remove all the meds in the water TIA
  20. I want to thank everybody for all the help. I ran to my LFS after work today to pick up a real sponge filter and saw some hikari betta bio gold. Installed the filter and dropped a couple in the tank and he immediately are them. Looks like thy bio gold is the winner. Again thank you all for the help
  21. In going to stop at the lfs today on my way home and pick some up. How do you store them? I assume he won't eat all of them
