  1. I have a pair or L134's they are really awesome fish! what I do is take my flashlight shine it off the tank while the room is dark and then start to shine it on the tank just until you can see inside the cave. Try not to go 100% all at once. Good luck!!
  2. Anubias Congensis! looks to be the one! im seriously thinking of removing my amazon sword and replacing it with these guys! I have sand substrate.
  3. Sorry for the crappy picture, Im a bit disgusted with my tank! I have a bit of an algae problem at the moment.
  4. A thought barteri was much bigger with rounder plants but I’ll check it out thank you!
  5. Hello everyone, I just stopped by a LFS for some more plants and came upon a plant they seem to think it’s in the Anubias family that looks like an Amazon sword? I ended up purchasing it because I was intrigued like I said it kinda looks like a sword but with thicker anubias feeling leaves. Anyone have an ideas on type/ name?? I’ll take a picture once I have a chance. Thank you in advance!!
  6. Is it possible it died before "getting stuck? I had same concerns about a tetra that died by getting stuck in my tidal 35 filter and everyone that responded ensured me fish are pretty capable of maneuvering. just wondering if it was something else.
  7. I’m with the others big piece of interesting drift wood and plants. I actually have a soft spot in my heart for Amazon Biotopes. Some day I would love to have the chance at a 120!!! My tank is only a 20L
  8. Had to break a small piece off of it but fits perfect now!
  9. Hello everyone I recently (about 3 weeks ago) added new Ghostwood dirft wood to my tank and was very close to a perfect fit! But it kept floating. I said To my self I would just keep it in and let it soak... fast forward 3 weeks I can’t close my lid 🙈did it change size? Anyone experience this before? Or is it just me? Maybe it just shifted but I can’t close my lid.....
  10. Hello guys, I was wondering if anyone had an issues with Amano shrimp Eating Eggs? I Have an apisto trio and not sure if I should remove the amano shrimp. i do have quite a bit of algae so im not sure if they will ever be too hungry but hopefully you guys will have more experience. Thanks in Advance!!
  11. This happened to me also I got a group of cardinal tetras and neon tetras they dropped like flies and I really had to look for them! Under any and every decoration!!! And they will be pale to almost grey so look out for that!
  12. Yes I fell into the same predicament! The 20 long is 30 inches. In my opinion I think fluval should make a pair for brackets for the larger versions. Or like @Mattyzz risers! For the price we pay for the light whats a couple cents in sending a set of 3 inch risers.
  13. I haven't made an account on thingyverse yet but I will definitely look into it.!!
  14. we have 2 at work ender 3 v2 and an ender 5. My printer is not running at the moment.
  15. Awesome!!! I was going do that exact idea but I wanted little more flexibility with height adjustment! I also used PETG apparently its safer for the fish.
  16. Thank you for your input! That might me a change I’ll make. Right now they are stainless steel. I’ll have to do some research.
  17. Hello everyone, Wanted to share my minor customization to my fluval 3.0. I wanted to get risers so I would get better dispersed light but couldn’t come across any that looked good and weren’t a million dollars. I searched near and far and found an L bracket at petco in the reptile section for 12 dollars so I got 2 and 3D printed a new base “where it clips to my tank” and an attachment/ adapter I could use the fluval clip mounts(by the way I emailed Fluval and they were nice enough to just send me a set!!! So all in all it cost me 25 dollars + 1 dollar in plastic for the 3D printer.... let me know what you think/ if anyone is interested In my STL file I can send you the file.....
  18. Thank you for your reply it is greatly appreciated! yes that was one of my thoughts they might not be ready. Are they known for spawning in a community tank or should they be alone? most of what i see online is pretty much alone.
  19. I have a pair of L134 leopard Frog pleco and am interested in breeding them. I have a 20 long community tank with what I think is close to optimal circumstances. I feed the tank a large variety of food. extreme krill, hikari carnivore pellets, baby brine shrimp, blood worms, extreme community and sera flake food.(the love it all! but the pair hardly even notice each other? I think the only time I saw them interact was one day I saw one go into a cave that he thought was empty and it wasn't then he got out quick. Should i just keep on doing what I'm doing and cross my fingers or do i have to be deliberate with a plan? i got the pair in December and the water is at 82 degrees.
  20. Spider wood is very interesting but I’m thinking for my pleccos maybe something abit thicker? That why I was thinking maybe ghostwood it has awesome character like spider wood just thicker! And then I see these beautiful tanks with the Malaysian. I actually do have a small piece of drift wood in there that my Java fern is mounted too.
  21. Hello everyone! thank you In advance for your posts! I have recently changed out my substrate to sand and am wanting to create an Amazon tank! Any suggestions on hardscape wood? I’m back and forth between Ghostwood or Malaysian drift wood
  22. Thank you for the response Joshua! I’m not sure if that’s the case! It looks 100 times better today! I had 2 sponge filters and the hang on the back filter I’m hoping that’s enough bacteria to manage the substrate conversion
  23. Yes the sand was pre rinsed! Ah yes you are probably right! I think I will wait a-bit longer then put them back in there.
  24. I just changed substrate from gravel to caribsea instant sand and now my tank is cloudy after filling it up!!! Is it okay to add fish back or should I wait abit longer right now they are in a 3 gallon buck with my spong filters.
  25. I do have a moderately planted tank will the carbon eliminate trace elements needed? on there website it also talks about purigen. i have been only using the matrix it came with and crushed coral and it seems to be doing good but I got a pair of Apistos and read somewhere that you should use some sort of carbon filter??.
