  1. i did not add the catapa leaves yet but i will do that and i really do think the tank is setup okay for hiding... the male just likes to hide up at the top neat the drainage pipe. so i do see a ton of tail flicking just not much on his part. funny thing is the male is same size if not a tad bigger.
  2. i just purchased a tank divider so hopefully the male survives till it comes in and i will separate until the female is gravid maybe? its a real shame because the male is beautiful.
  3. I defiantly hear you! unfortunately that's what my rack was made with. I only have the pair and i have a couple caves one toward the back on cemter and one in the front. i have some plants mounted on caves and i also have a piece of driftwood. im sorry i stand corrected i have the pair plus the 3 tetras which i will probably remove.
  4. Hello Everyone, Sorry for the intermittent posting. I got all my 10 gallon racks up and running with different types of Apisto's. I have a pair that is giving me a hard time. the female is ultra aggressive and it looks like she might kill the male. this happened about 3 weeks ago and I pulled the female and had her in a breeder box for 2 weeks then put them back together and they are back at it.. The male is not looking so hot. anyone have this issue? I got a good amount of plants and 2 or 3 huts in the tank. about an hour ago I put accouple tetras in as dither fish. but i might take them out. any ideas?
  5. hey guys, Just letting you know, I spoke with a representative for Repashy this mourning and they told me it is becoming increasingly hard to source supply chain items and there is going to be a HUGE price increase in JANUARY. They advised me if you use it you may want to think ahead and buy some now. they assured me the jars last 2 years. So Just a heads up tp my fellow repashy users.
  6. The flex isn’t that bad definitely not 1/2 inch. Everything looks good so far I took your advice with those plastic sheets from Walmart!! Thank you again! Id say 1/8 of an inch maybe. I can tell on 2 tanks the tops touch while the bottoms have the smallest gap.
  7. Thank you for the complement!! I got a lot of my ideas from people here on the forums, YouTube and Corey I think I’ve seen every video of his and Deans. Haha no fish shop it’s just my basement. I’ll be sure to take more videos when they are stocked!
  8. First time filling up the tanks. Thankfully no leaks!!! Excuse the cable and hose management wanted to see it work first before buttoning it up.
  9. Hey guys just uploaded a short video of the new rack filling up with water. Sorry for the messy hoses and wires I’m still going to do a lot of cable and hose management.
  10. Thank you for that I’m borrowing a page from your playbook! I’m going to pick some up tomorrow!! It is greatly appreciated
  11. I had the exact same concerns! with sagging and bending but I'm only using 10's so at most ill only be around 400 pounds but I got a back up plan. At the fist sign of anything going array I have a bracket I can install in the center of the racks and I could also get some plywood and make my own shelfs. But im not going to lie right now they are very solid and the build quality is legit.
  12. HaHa yes sorry guys I got ahead of my self I was going to do a bigger write up. My plans are breeding apisto's and I have my wild caught L134s probably going in a 40 breeder at the bottom of the rack. I have my water supply going to a thermostatic water controller set to 78ish degrees then going thru a sediment filter and 2 carbon block filters and then thru my solenoid valves so I can controller water to the tanks. I'm just using a rack I purchased at LOWES 800 LB shelf capacity. EDSEL might be the name ill double check
  13. After months of collecting pieces and changing my mind a couple time this is where I'm at.
  14. I have 8 10 gallons plus a 40 breeder and my original 2o long. all on the auto water change system. for the 40 breeder I was planning on taking half of my filter media from my tidal 35 and putting it in a new hob filter for the 40 breeder.
  15. ha typo I meant to say wrong way trio. 2 males and a female.
  16. as of right now I have pentazona barbs, blood fin tetras, leopard frog pleco L134, and I have a wrong way pair for veijta gold apistos lol im looking for more apistos and my top bucketlist fish is a group of L46 Zebra pleco!
  17. yes sorry about that i forgot to mention i have been seeding 8 aquarium co-op sponge filters for well over a month in an established well stocked tank! im just scared that its not enough and ill have an imbalance and kill existing BB.
  18. Hello Everyone, I am getting very close to filling some tanks on my new 10 tank rack!!! I will get pictures up very soon!! i do have a quick stocking question. because all my tanks are brand new never stocked when I do fill them i was planning on taking plants and other things from my other tanks putting them in there as well as accouple fish. when I do this should I run a water change everyday so while the benefitable bacteria grows it also get rid of any potentially harmful ammonia or should I just fill them and sit and wait?
  19. I think that might be the secret sauce!! the 99% isopropyl I just use vinegar and Windex.
  20. that is my exact thought I'm painting side and back so they wont see each other! give them more protection.
  21. I'm having a bit difficulty getting my acrylic paint to stick in select spots. They were all cleaned well and fist coat went on fine but there are like spots that seem to be stubborn....
  22. If you don’t mind me asking do you paint your bottoms and sides?
