  1. Live baby brine has been magical in my fish room. If a large hatchery is not right for you try looking at smaller ones like the disc hatcher that does not require air. I was able to hatch out enough a few times a week for one or two tanks and have healthy fry. Now that my fish room is going gang-buster with fry I use two of the ziss hatchers with large quantities. My other favorite and this is going to be crazy but I have had good results: The sinking wafers from Xtreme. It acts as a slow release food for fry; as it sinks and sits it becomes easier for the fish to pick at and chew on but is packed of protein as it is usually used for bottom dwelling fish.
  2. I have a tank full of Endlers that some would look at and think that it is the dirtiest worst tank in my fishroom. Mulm is collected and built up, the water is turning green but the floating plants are thriving! I have found that a good balance between waste removal and feeding is a key part for me keeping healthy fish. I want the fish to feed on a good food but I also want the plants to thrive off of the nitrates coming in. Overstocking is a hot topic for sure but I think that comes down to water quality and quality of food going in. Quality of food going in will for sure affect water quality in my opinion.
  3. I have the video filmed for my channel but have not released it yet. If you want to dig into Aquarium Co-Ops channel it is Deans Fish Room Tour from about 4 years ago that he first showed it. If you search for deans fish room tour you should be able to find it.
  4. Thank you! It was a fun project to put together.
  5. The new fry system hard at work in the fish room. Trying to get more active in the forum and I thought this was a good starting point. This has changed the way I breed fish. Thanks Master Breeder Dean for being willing to share your knowledge.
  6. I am actually pleased with it. I both siliconed it to the back of the glass and applied silicone around the edges. I have not had any problems with it affecting the tank negatively.
  7. Continuing building out my YouTube Studio and my wife was kind and made me an awesome sign with my favorite quote. Do not know who the author is but the owner of the LFS I have been working closely with said it one night and it rang true with me.
  8. Tucker loves inspecting new things I am working on. Filling up the 90 gallon tank in the new studio for the first time
  9. Mainly cichlid species. A lot of cichlids are mouth brooders and this is really just an artificial way of hatching said eggs. From there pleco eggs is another popular use.
  10. Yes I will be. Wanted to do some testing before sharing everything
  11. Already I like the Ziss one the best but that was the most expensive one.
  12. Working on the 90 gallon for my live stream studio and got the background in. Background came from Universal Rocks and fortunately I was able to get a standard background so shipping and cost were not insane.
  13. Ziss Aqua, Cobalt and a cheap one from amazon. Kind of a good, better, best
  14. Testing three different egg tumblers and methalyne blue in attempts for higher yields from my Egyptian Mouth Brooders eggs.
  15. I was able to successfully harvest eggs from my Egyptian Mouthbrooders - multicolor Victorae. Hoping for a good hatch rate
  16. With limited space in my fish room I have to get creative. Another set of shelves ready for 20 long tanks.
  17. I just feel bad blending up all those shrimp into a paste lol
  18. Just found this out with my care package from you guys at the Co-Op! New packaging looks great!
  19. Did anyone else raid their local Petco yet for the sale? I am adding 7 new tanks to the fish room this weekend. And I picked up the final 20 long I needed to attempt to recreate Master Breeder Dean's fry system. Going to be a good weekend!
  20. Have to say I have already seen increased fry production since feeding baby brine daily! But also the noticeable health benefits to all my fish. Growing faster, coloration and much more active. Love my Ziss Hatchery!
  21. My name is Trent and I have been officially keeping fish for almost 5 years now. This all started when my wife would not allow me to get a snake and bought me a tank for our first Christmas together. Now that has grown to my second fish room build and me sharing my experiences on my YouTube channel. Currently I am interested in Wild Type live bearers and have a good mix in the fish room. This fish room is perfect for me and allows me to focus on so many interests at once. From hatching baby brine every day to raising my first group of swordtail fry I am loving the journey. Excited to share this forum with all your great minds!
