In all seriousness though, I don't know how people can rate their favorite movies, music, etc. I can never even give a top 5 in any category. There is so much good stuff out there these days.

Aubrey
I'm going to recommend "Cannery Row" for best movie with frogs as currency. Back around Thanksgiving I was visiting my parents and being a total nerm. Recently I have been interested in older aquaria and microscopic observation. My father told me he had an old microscope that I could have. It was neat, but not what I was looking for. I explained to him that I wanted to observe the development of fish eggs, and I even brought some that we could look at with the microscope. Later on I was still nerming it up and talking about a sculpin that I collected and have been keeping. My parents weren't really interested, but allowed me to ramble on. After a while my father mentioned I was like Nick Nolte from "Cannery Row." I had no idea what he was talking about. Anyway, he explained the movie and when I got back home I promptly watched it. It was pretty good, I enjoyed it. I can kind of see what my father was getting at. At some point when I have the space I think I will have to bulid my own wood and metal framed aquarium. Sapere_Ceta
For Comedy, my favorite movie would have to be: Fright Night (1985). For Horror, I like: Mama (2013), Silent Hill, Mandy, It (2017), the Evil Dead franchise, Insidious, and Hellraiser. Leatherface is also a pretty entertaining horror movie. For Sci-Fi, I’ve always enjoyed: Signs, the Alien franchise, War of the Worlds (2005), Color Out of Space, and The X-Files - Fight The Future. For a Christmas movie, my two favorites are: Die Hard and Krampus.
Streetwise
Die Hard: the protagonist is sneaking around a tower, trying to avoid Alan Rickman. Therefore, it is also a Harry Potter movie. 1

Streetwise
My comfort movies are the Hobbit and LOTR movies. My favorite movie is probably Blade Runner, and I try to wait as long as possible between each re-watch. My favorite movie for the hobby is the Martian. I would want to be a botanist if I were stuck on Mars.

L.W. Wetarm
We just finished marathoning the entire Star Wars series, in sequence. I had seen all of the at one time or another, starting with Episodes IV of course...then 20 something years later there was Episode I...I was always confused. 🤷🏼♂️ So this time, we started with two seasons of The Mandlorian and the on to Episode I The Phantom Menace and straight through every night to the last one, Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker. I consider it on of the great pop culture achievements of my life. 😉
