What do you use for your Repashy molds?

I used to use cube silicone molds I got from Amazon, which I still use when I freeze brine shrimp. For repashy, I pour the mixture while it's still hot onto some wax paper. It's thick enough to spread out but not be runny, like a batch of peanut brittle.

I put enough sheet of wax paper on top and then roll it up so it takes up less space in the freezer.

Once frozen, it's thin enough to shatter.

Pic shows a small batch but I normally make a lot at once and freeze it. The cube molds were a bit too large of a portion for some of the tanks I feed, and slicing a thick square of it into cubes and freezing it was still a pain to break apart when frozen. This is super fast and easy unless you're extremely picky about consistent portion sizes.

I made a mold out of a piece of eggcrate because I was bored one weekend. Wholly unnecessary but works good, you can just pop out each square into whatever container you want.

I also like using small mason jars because you can just mix it in the jar, let it set up, then scoop out what you want to feed with using a spoon.

love the mason jar idea, i might need to steal that. i mix mine up in little mixing bowls when i plan to feed, i rarely make it in advance.

I use a small ice cube tray with a silicone bottom.  I’m still working out how much to mix up, but I pour in the warm mix and let it set up.  Once it sets up, I flip it over and push out the cubes. They are a little big, so I quarter the before storing them in the fridge.

Repashy is on my list of foods to add to the Arsenal and learn how to do. I’m curious, could you theoretically use silicone ice trays as molds? I like the idea of having cactus or pumpkin shaped repashy, I feel like it would be a fun way to add various holiday or seasonal fun to the fishroom.

Definitely. Silicone molds of any kind work well.

You could buy small sand toy molds. We have some old ones that are in different shapes. They are probably dirt cheap too!
