Every ones tanks look so good and most of mine look like, let’s just not as nice but they sure do produce babies. I love angels so I though I would should some babies, confused parents and how one tank of angles sleep2759293E-6D00-4A47-83C9-F416588B872B.jpeg.fcc5f2219cb75c11dc5b1a2981a580fc.jpegB6987FA8-9F58-489E-987E-F3F20E637F6C.jpeg.a56b38a45fa49e510e3462fec08895bf.jpegthe babies 7B631053-F787-4661-B397-5A234D664253.jpeg.c76c73222ea4c5749a6e5818fb0747e4.jpegF388EB78-0CB6-47CA-A76F-A2EAFE2098B4.jpeg.46cb0e461b8698061951f1da149fa436.jpegconfused parents decided to lay on the heater and they seem good they are just starting to wiggle. Even though they have a cone and slate that they normally lay on. BFF628EF-41F4-4883-88B8-11556044F39B.jpeg.a7517a0465ae7098e95179f4533ba9cf.jpegI have to admit that I just turn the light off and and 5 mins later turned back on to take the pic. In the pic the one is on the side. If I get up at night or get up early they are all on the sides. They have been like that since I got them. They other fish with fry did come from this tank be that was a long time ago and they done do that.

OK, past time for me to post a few pics.  Starting with my big boy, a Santa Isabella crossed with silver.  I really thought he would end up the tank boss but I have the pair of Bulgarian seal points and they are definitely co-bosses.  I suspect once I get my kois in here that may change.  I’ll have a bunch of fish to add at once so it should be safe enough.  Some of the kois that were sent to me have imperfect operculums, so I don’t want to breed them, but they’re fine as pets.  I’m debating selling the ones that have imperfect operculums but I’m not completely comfortable with that since I don’t want there to be any chance they will be resold to anyone without full disclosure of this genetic defect.  They should definitely not be bred since this is a trait that will get worse with subsequent generations.  I’m thinking to keep them in the main tank and just never pulling eggs if a pairing happens between any of the imperfect operculums individuals.  When/IF I decide to breed, I’ll pick out a small group of the kois and separate them and let them pair off if they haven’t already made a pairing I like.

1. Big Boy.

2. BSP’s in various pics including being goofy angling their tops toward the light (excuse the pea soup).

3. Various kois that are still in QT.  Not the best pics since I was trying to get pics of their opercula.  Plus a pic of the one that came in with fin rot, but he’s very handsome and in recovery.

OK, you made me look up operculum. It means gill cover. I never heard or saw that word before. Learn something every day. And beautiful fish! I especially like the first picture.

Me lurking on a thread for angelfish owners when I don't have one because my partner says they're "too triangular"

Well gosh darn these are the prettiest triangles I have ever seen

You could consider festivus which are similar but less triangular.

I like all the guppies in with the angels, do you keep them as a food source ? Is it a problem with the angels nipping the guppy tails ? Thanks !!!

The angels eat ALL the guppy fry but very rarely go after adults.  The guppies do nip on each other sometimes.

This one was hatched in my aquarium. He is about 9 months old. Big for his age.

I've noticed that too - the ones i raise from frys seem to get dang large. Sadly this is a problem because they don't fit in the net i have 😞
