Had them since New Years (from reputable breeder) nickel size. They are just reaching breeding age, so don’t know if it’s related to maturing. Nothing new to tank. Feeding xtreme community/pee wee and frozen bloodworms(rotating schedule, the angels pretty much ignore the flakes). Same feeding schedule for months

This is the third angel in this tank to have this. First one was a few weeks ago, everyone else seemed fine. Developed a bloated abdomen, passed after three days. Second one did the same thing last weekend, and now a third one is doing the same. 78 degrees 25 nitrate 0 nitrite 0 ammonia 200 ppm gh 80 ppm kh 6.8 ph 0 chlorine no new fish or changes, any ideas?

What size sieve should I buy for brine shrimp?
adamh replied to Stealth Aquatics's topic in General Discussion
I just use coffee filters and never have any issue. -

I was going to leave them (little chance for survival in the tank they’re in) but my 7 year old was adamant we pull them. So I did. I hope the kids at his school want to start some fish tanks!😂

I can’t speak to if there is a problem, although if you watch @Cory on ghost shrimp, you could have all different kinds. I hope it’s not a problem because I think that shrimp looks really cool!

Probably obvious, but you are putting salt in when you set up the hatchery?

I use airline above but with a long piece of rigid tubing. You have great spot control this way, and then just kink the hose in your other hand to stop suction when needed

UPDATE: everyone is looking much better today! Still a little lethargic, but clamped fins are almost all gone and some seem back to normal!🙂
-
Nope, I was holding off just in case of that. I just hit them with paracleanse a couple of hours ago. It was about normal feeding time so I put a small amount of food in the tank to see reaction. A couple came up for it, most were actually willing to eat when it came to them in the water column. These guys are typically hogs and go nuts any time you even look at them so there is definitely something up besides water quality.

I am wondering if they have gill flukes? Anyone familiar with symptoms in angelfish?
-
They’ve been in there about three months. GH has always been at that level their whole life with no observed issues. measured in ppm
-
There are several in there acting this way (this is a 55g grow out tank). I watch them pretty heavily and have never seen this behavior. Have not had any issue with them at this nitrate level, but will be doing a water change in a few minutes

Just came to my fish room and my angels look suddenly strange. Showing clamped fin? And seem to be a little gaspy. temp 78f ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 35 GH 250ppm chlorine 0 kh 50ppm ph 7.5 thoughts?

Thanks Jungle Fan! I do always feel like a jerk when I pull their eggs though. They’re in a community tank but I’d like to see their fry so I don’t know that I have a choice.

Yeah, it’s just a screenshot. I’ll have to add the video. Maybe this works? https://youtube.com/shorts/Xq744aPRNDM
