  1. Thanks Guppysnail! Is it normal for plants of this such to grow nodes on the leaves? Like a baby bolbitis? The photo I posted is a week or so old. I will upload a new one in a bit. It has these little nodes growing off the leaves. Not sure if it how a baby bolbitis grows? or if it is a flower?
  2. Good day all. I have this plant I need help identifying. Any ideas of this specimen?
  3. I had a small nug fall off my Marimo Moss ball. Planted to see if it would spread like a carpet. Has anyone tried this? Thoughts?
  4. Telescoping lift tubes to fit the small, nano, med, lg, etc...
  5. Using the pot to hold some ivy. It just happens to fit perfectly in the precut hole for the heater.
  6. I've used CLR. Just be sure to rinse well and try avoid getting on the silicone. CLR plus a razer has worked well for me.
  7. For those that have debated Pottasium because of the price point. Have you considered a stand alone (portable) water softener unit? They are roughly the size of a canister. You could plumb a pipe from your nearest cold water tap or just run a water hose from the kitchen or washing room when it is fill up time. This way the potassium is only for the aquarium. The portable units aren't to pricey, seen them for about 250$ at Home Depot.
  8. Good Morning all. I am having an issue with Columnaris and have read that GH plays a major role in Columnaris. I have hard water ( well ) and the API 5 in 1 test shows im at the high end, 180ppm. It might be higher as it is pretty hard water. Has anyone had issues with Columnaris that uses hard water? I'm not able to get medication so I'm hoping by adjusting temp and dosing with salt I can buy time till I can get medication delivered or purchased from Petsmart, my LFS's suck. Tank specs below. 30 gal long running a Tidal 55 with two sponge filters (1 at each end, tidal in the middle). Temp is at 79F, working to lower to 75F in increments. Ammonia: 0 PH: 7.5 to 8.0 KH: between 120 and 160 GH: 180 Nitrate: between 0 and 20 Nitrite: 0
  9. It was the heat from the lamp. A large hatch rate in just 24 hours. Thanks guys!
  10. I think I may have had light source to close. And cooked the eggs? I have no way to measure temp at this time. Using a clear 50w incandescent that I use on hotbox for warming oil clay. Had it probably 3" to 4" backed off to 8".
  11. Just a hose. Using a 2 liter bottle with a CO2 cap.
  12. I also was surprised by that top layer. However, I do not have any shrimp. It's now 48 hours and barely any hatching. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? My Setup: 1.5 TSP Aquarium COOP Eggs Well water (Hardness, yes) PH is 7.5 to 8.0. 1 L of water 2 TBS of Aquarium Salt Pinch of baking soda This is my 2nd batch, 1st batch I got maybe 30% hatch rate.
  13. I recommend using a cable sleeve. Basically a large nylon jacket. Great for entertainment area and work stations as well. Much easier then mesing with zipties and cleaner looking. Then get some of those bicycle hooks used in garages (or some kind of U shapped hook) and screw into back side of those boards. And just lay the bundles in those hooks to hide everything.
