  1. You could get away with half the amount if your using large almond leaves
  2. Clamped fins can be caused by poor water quality disease what your pH KH GH does he seems stressed by his tanks have you noticed any aggression any rapid breathing hanging out near the surface lethargy @Kennanator
  3. With dropsy that can be caused by a number of things such as a bacterial infections organ failure causing fluid buildup parasitic infection the most effective treatment I have found is a combination of maracyn2 and metroplex in food feeding a small amount twice a day for 7 days add aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 2 gallons to help reduce fluid buildup he's a recipe for maracyn2 just add one scoop of metroplex to the recipe for a more broad spectrum treatment if he isn't eating I would dose the tank with maracyn2 and metroplex
  4. Could be swim bladder for that you would want to treat with plain unsented epsom salt as it acts as a muscle relaxant to help relieve pressure on the swim bladder I would quarantine and fast for a couple of days add epsom salt 1 table spoon for 3 gallons for 5 days or you can do epsom salt baths once a days 1 table spoon for 1 gallon for no more than 15 minutes for 5 days
  5. It's safe to use ick X with aquarium salt as ich causes massive electrolyte loss and salt will add back in essential electrolytes I would do a water change and dose ick X and keep the aquarium salt at 1 table spoon for 3 gallons@rsousa
  6. I would do 1 table spoon for 5 gallons that level of salt safe for your Cory's and most plants will tolerate that level of salt fine you could quarantine this fish and treat on its own with a higher level of salt
  7. Yes 40 leaves for 40 gallon tank here's how you can tell if your dealing with epistylis that feeds off of gram negative bacteria on the slime coat of your fish and spreads more quickly at higher temperatures the most effective treatment is maracyn2 in food feeding a small amount twice a day for 7 days and dose the tank with malachite green active ingredient in ick X
  8. White stingy poop can be just poop with no food in it could be caused by constipation what I would do is fast for a couple of days and keep an eye on your water parameters then give an update if your seeing no improvement or it gets worse @VanDogh
  9. Just leave the filters running after 24hr drain and rinse everything thoroughly leave it to dry
  10. It's possible it due to lack of minerals I would add some Indian almond leaves as they have antibacterial and antifungal properties you might have to add one leaf per gallon to get a beneficial effect use the equilibrium to remineralize your water that female looks like her scales are peeling what you described with raised white spots could be epistylis if you have more pictures of fish that the have these spots can you post them I would up the water changes to 50% once a week looking at the amount of fish in that tank do regular testing @ItsMeDario
  11. You can get black cyst with some type of nematode worms on the side of your fish I can't say for sure that's the cause in this case
  12. How you tested your ammonia level as black patches on the body can be a sign of ammonia poisoning. are you remineralizing your RO water. the white spots were they raised or flat and did they go away after treatment. Any rapid breathing hanging out near the surface lethargy flashing spitting food out sunken belly white stringy poop loss of appetite @ItsMeDario
  13. You can Rinse it out with tap water I use 3mls per gallon when sterilising nets and buckets you can use a higher dose
  14. I disinfect my bucket by filling them with water add a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution in a couple of hours it turns into H20 and oxygen than I give a clean and rise with dechlorinated water @oogabooga
  15. How you got a quarantine tank you could use that way you could add a low dose of epsom salt 1 table spoon for 5 gallons and leave the epsom salt in 5 days and do a course of maracyn2 just in case there's a bacterial component @Stroy15
  16. Pleco ceramic YouTube channel has a video on how to sex zebra plecos
  17. There from a the same genus as There from the same genus as the African blue diamond tetras so won't cross breed with standard congo tetras
  18. I have never used it so I can't say how good it is for planted tanks maybe someone else can chip in
  19. Kanaplex isn't very effective in food not a lot of the medication is adsorbed by the intestinal tract so very little makes it into the blood stream you can use API general cure in food I would see how he responds to the kanaplex before treating with other medications he's a medicated food recipe you can use with general cure just in case you need to treat in the future with general cure
  20. Could be a bacterial infections of wren what I would do is up the level of aquarium salt to 1 table spoon for two gallons Polyguard has multiple active ingredient I don't like to use the shotgun approach kanaplex or maracyn2 would be my preferred choice of antibiotic treatment I would finish the full course of Polyguard then if your seeing no improvement treat with one of the medication I recommended both are broad spectrum antibiotic treatments @rsousa
  21. I don't use pH up or baking soda I find your constantly trying to get that prefect ph with these products I use crushed coral or crushed Oyster shell's is what I have used in all my tanks just to raise the KH enough so i don't get drastic swings in pH my tap water has zero KH and GH
  22. Am going to tag @mountaintoppufferkeeper the most successful puffer breeders on the site
  23. If I remember rightly there from a different genus so they won't cross breed
  24. Fish can be fine with swings in pH as long as there not to drastic if your only doing a 20-25% water change a week for example the pH would probably only change by 0.2 you fish would be fine with that you could add some crushed coral to the substrate to raise your KH so you get less of a drop in your pH
  25. White lip can be an indication of the start of mouth rot that can be associated with columnaris I would keep a very close eye the fish with white lips and start treating straight away if it gets worse
