  1. for bacterial infections they can effect the swim bladder I thought your fish had swim bladder and dropsy must have read it wrong
  2. It one tablet for 50 litres salt aquarium salt and epsom safe to use with bactopur direct if your only seeing swim bladder at the moment I would do 5 days of epsom baths than follow up with sera bactopur direct tablets if your not seeing any improvement@Cjbear087 Epsom on its on its own will treat swim bladder can be caused by a number of things such as an injury to the swim bladder bacterial infection of the swim bladder fish over eating and the stomach putting pressure on the swim bladder
  3. Looking at the pictures I would also start dosing ick X daily when doing water changes as well as the salt @ShineOn75
  4. What I would do is treat with maracyn and ick X if your quarantine tank is 10 gallons do a 50% water change daily redose ick X and put half a packet of maracyn back in to keep the medication at a therapeutic level for 5 days then give an update @flossy
  5. Looking at the active ingredients I don't think that interpret antibacterial treatment would be effective at treating dropsy if your fish has swim bladder you would treat treat with plane unscented epsom salts in a bath 1 table spoon for 1 gallon for no more than 15 minutes for 5 days as Epsom salt acts a muscle relaxant to help relieve pressure on the swim bladder you should be able to get Sera bactopur direct tablet active ingredient nifurpirinol antibiotic treatment that should be readily available off Amazon or eBay I would treat with that and aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 2 gallon if your fish has pineconing @Cjbear087
  6. As you have just done a course of kanaplex I would just do salt and metroplex in food the treatment I recommended shouldn't harm your other fish I would also fast for next 5 days to see
  7. General cure is safe to use with sensitive fish it can take three full courses of treatment two weeks apart so you would want to treat on week 1 week 3 week 5
  8. From what I have read Leopard bush fish can get aggressive so I wouldn't mix different species of ctenopoma I would get a group of congo Tetra's for dither fish you could add some synodontis catfish for the lower part of the tank @SOLOMON B
  9. I would use 3% hydrogen peroxide at 6 ml per gallon to steriliser nets and equipment I would leave it over night to soak best not to take chances when dealing with mycobacteriosis
  10. What I would do is up the temperature as other have mentioned add Indian almond leaves as there have antibacterial and antifungal properties you might have to add one leaf per gallon to get a beneficial effect and a course of maracyn2 active ingredient minocycline also has anti-inflammatory properties as most case of fin rot are caused by gram negative bacteria its also possible he's self harming biting his own fins that not uncommon in long finned bettas I add a mirror or other items to try and distract him @EricksonAquatics
  11. Sorry to hear that no effective treatment currently available if it's mycobacteriosis be very careful with nets and other equipment to avoid cross contamination of your tanks @ange
  12. Could be hole in the head disease that can be caused by Hexamita nutritional deficiency poor water quality there's supposedly a link between the use of active carbon and hole in the head if your water parameters are fine I would look at what your feeding I would stop using active carbon if your using it the most effective treatments are metronidazole active ingredient in metroplex or fritz metrocleanse in food feeding a small amount twice a day for upto 3 weeks if he's not eating dose the tank @Colette
  13. Am struggling to see the small white spots if there flat look like a sprinking of salt on the body and fins they could have ich you want to treat with ick X and aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 10 gallons as ich causes massive electrolyte loss and the salt will add back in essential electrolytes i would also follow up with a course of maracyn to treat the fins could be an injury to the mouth it could have a bacterial component maracyn will help with that @RaeLea
  14. Test daily If your seeing any ammonia do a 50% water change and add a double dose of prime to help detoxify any ammonia till it constantly stays at zero if you have some cycled media from another tank you could add that will help to speed up the process
  15. It's difficult to tell if it's dropsy off your pictures something internal could be going on like intestine blockage can cause bulging on the side it's possible something else like dropsy that can be caused by a number of things such as polycystic kidney disease internal bacterial infections parasitic infection the most effective treatment I have found for dropsy is dose the tank with kanaplex to treat any possible internal bacterial infections you can use Epsom salt or aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 2 gallons that will help reduce fluid buildup and metroplex in food feeding a small amount twice a day for upto 3 weeks I would add some crushed coral to the substrate to gradually increase the pH to 7-7.5 I see your moving them to a 55 gallon tank ideally you want a minimum of 75 gallons but a 125 would be better long term @SophiaV
  16. Yes given that length of time you should be fine
  17. I would only steriliser equipment if your going to be using it in another tank
  18. Kanaplex isn't very effective in food as very little of the medication is adsorbed by the intestinal tract I would dose the tank
  19. High concentration of Salt would be harmful to your shrimp most plants can tolerate 1 table spoon for 5 gallons above that and it will be harmful to your plants what I would do is a course of maracyn2 as most case of fin rot are caused by gram negative bacterial and it's shrimp safe antibiotic treatment
  20. Sorry for the late reply been travelling since Monday just got my destination I agree with @Odd Duckmaracyn2 is what I would recommend
  21. It might need more time to heal I would just monitor next couple of days than give an update if your seeing no improvement
  22. frozen Cyclops has worked well for me when feeding small sick fish that were struggling to feed @Chick-In-Of-TheSea
  23. Good to hear she recovered
  24. Am not seeing any Reddening that would indicate an active infection what I would do is add some Indian almond leaves as they have antibacterial and antifungal properties you might have to add one leaf per gallon to get a beneficial effect and monitor for 7 days if the fins start to recede or you notice any Redding then I would do a course of kanaplex that's a broad spectrum antibiotic treatment @Tan Tran
  25. Could epistylis that feeds off of gram negative bacteria on the slime coat of your fish and spreads more quickly at higher temperatures the fact you have seem no improvement after 7 days of treating with maracyn2 could mean something else is going if you have a quarantine tank lower the temperature gradually to 75 I would the treat with aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 1 gallon and kanaplex just remember to only put back in what you take out so if you do a 1 gallon water change put 1 table spoon of aquarium salt back as salt only removed though water changes @ShineOn75
