Jungle Fan
This morning in my backyard, a young Cooper's Hawk eyeing my bird feeders. "Nice try Fizzboy!" as Foghorn Leghorn would've said to Hennery Hawk. Edited March 26, 2022 by Jungle Fan Picture went missing 1

Torrey
We have a hawk (I think) that is worried we aren't eating enough. The hawk has brought us a pigeon every week for the past month. This is the best picture I have been able to get, as the vertical barring on the chest, and the horizontal bars on the tail help it blend into the ponderosa pines.

Or like this? Or even like this? All are photos of Cooper’s Hawk.

We haven't been able to get any better of a picture/image than what I posted... but sounds like if you crossed a coopers with a sharp-shinned. Based on our location, I'm more inclined to think Coopers, and it shared a wing with us today... right on the porch.

Whelp... we are 100% undecided 🤣 Spouse brought this out: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Coopers_Hawk/species-compare/70780511 Glad to know we aren't the only ones who struggle to differentiate, and the bird prefers to fly with the sun behind it... or hide in the pines.😏 Of course, there's always the possiblity that we have both, and I took a picture of the Coopers, and my spouse has seen the sharp shinned🤷🏼♂️ https://birdwatchinghq.com/birds-of-prey-in-new-mexico/#hawk Edited April 2, 2022 by Torrey Found the other link
