  1. @Atitagain Thanks for the advice 🙂 Well the decor I want to add is new but is in a plastic bag along with old decor from a tank that had an ICH outbreak. I did however thouroughly rinse with hot water then clean with a white vinegar solution all of the pieces of decor from the problem tank that are in the plastic bag with the new piece of decor. Actually, my large artificial rock cave came from two separate tanks that had ICH outbreaks. I cleaned it each time with a white vinegar solution and am using it in my current aquarium. The ICH in the first two tanks, one tank is the current one I am using, came from other fish and from a new plant. At least I think that's where it came from. I actually had to try three times before having a successful first aquarium, my current one. The first two attempts I had Neon Tetras that I added additional fish to the tanks after one got stuck in the filter intake and died, the new fish brought ICH, then when I started over I brought a new plant into the tank that I'm pretty sure brought ICH as well. These fish and plants were from a big box store by the way. I am using everything including the substrate from my ICH outbreak tanks actually because I read online from another couple of forums that as long as there are no hosts for the ICH to attach to it will die off within two weeks for sure and I should just thoroughly clean all of my tank accessories etc. and can then re-use them. I cleaned everything other than the gravel substrate (which I rinsed repeatedly with hot water) including my thermometer, water heater and decor, with a white vinegar solution, and am using it all in the current aquarium.
  2. Hi, so I've gotten some advice from a couple of forum members on adding hardscape and plants to my aquarium. First, I have a 10 gallon planted (only Java Ferns) aquarium with three Dwarf Endlers, been running and established for about 6 months. I currently only have the Java Ferns, an Aquarium Co-Op sponge filter and a sizeable artificial rock cave in the tank along with the fish of course. (and the gravel substrate, tank heater and thermometer) My concern is that if I add say another bit of decor or two will they bring disease or in any way contaminate the aquarium? If I add any decor I will clean it thoroughly with a white vinegar solution and let it completely dry before I add it to the tank. Any advice or guidance is very much appreciated, thanks in advance! 🙂
  3. @Patrick_G cool, I'll look at getting some more hardscape, maybe plants too. Thanks for the advice! 🙂
  4. Awesome! I've watched Pokemon's animated series some, and Full Metal Alchemist when I was younger. However, for Manga, I just bought Vol. 1 and 2 of Demon Slayer in paperback. They were both backordered so I've gotten Vol. 1 in the mail already, haven't gotten 2 yet. I'm planning on reading it soon. I have to read Full Metal Alchemist 1,2,3 first 🙂
  5. @Zenzo thanks very much for the help and advice! Next order from Aquarium Co-Op I'll buy some of the gel super glue 🙂
  6. Thank you!! 🙂 I actually have heard that, from the Aquarium Co-Op's YouTube videos, I just didn't have any rocks or wood and I was also worried about not giving the fish enough room to swim if I attached my Java Ferns to rocks or wood, there's already an artificial rock cave in the middle of the aquarium. Do you think two or three palm-sized or in general small sized rocks would be too much to put into my tank along with the existing rock cave? Or even could I attach the Java Ferns to the rock cave possibly?
  7. So, I've had my Dwarf Endlers, three of them, for about 6 months now in a 10 gallon planted aquarium with a grouping of Java Ferns and a Sponge Filter, never-clog airstone and air-pump, as well as air line from the Co-Op. I have heard that every 6 months you should clean your Sponge Filter. On Saturday, I cleaned my Sponge Filter for the first time as per Cory's recommended method. My fish seem very happy after the filter cleaning, even though it wasn't that dirty lol. I also trimmed off three dead leaves from the original Java Ferns and replanted three of the off-shoots or new growth from the original plants into the front left and front right of the aquarium. Just wanted to share this with you all and thank Cory and everyone at the Co-Op for all of the great YouTube content and for everything that they do for the hobby 🙂
  8. Amazing work @Cory ! I love everything you do for this hobby and your fish room is amazing 🙂
  9. I'm just getting into fish keeping and it has helped my stress and anxiety a Ton. I would be ok I would say, if I couldn't keep fish anymore, but it's been such a great experience even with my rough start into the hobby where my first 6 fish died of ICH. I do worry like others have mentioned, sometimes obsessively, about how my fish are doing and about different things related to my aquarium, but it's such a great hobby and I hope to have at least one aquarium for the rest of my life 🐟🙂
  10. Awesome, thanks for the advice! I'll explore those options if I'm able to set-up a minimum 20 gallon tank 🙂
  11. @Keeg thanks for the advice! I didn't know that about the plants in tubes at the big chain stores, interesting.
  12. Excellent method IMO. I'll try something similar when I get my new plants. I'm really wanting to try something other than Java Ferns.
  13. @Guppy Guy Awesome! I would love to get into breeding them 🙂
  14. @Guppy Guy Cool! I love Guppies! I want to eventually have like a 20 gallon tank with different types of Guppies and possibly breed them. But that's getting off topic, sorry.
  15. @Miranda Marie mine too! They are definitely hard to take photos of also!
  16. Cool, good to know, thanks! I'll probably just let them sit for a week or two in water just to be safe. I had a disaster of ICH from a PetSmart plant killing ultimately all 5 of my Neon Tetras when first getting into fishkeeping. Not to compare PetSmart to the Co-Op or anything like that, we all know the difference 🙂
  17. Maybe 😄 I've read that they are always hungry and very active!
  18. @Miranda Marie @Guppy Guy my Dwarf Endlers are like puppies too lol. Especially the smallest one. They are always active and come right up to the tank glass when I walk up to it. 🙂
  19. Thanks everyone for the replies! 🙂 So if I were going to quarantine the plants, from any source really, just floating them in a tub or tank with just water for a week or two is a safe option? This should be enough time for even ICH to die off if I'm correct?
  20. Hi, I'm really wanting to order some new plants from Aquarium Co-Op's website for my almost 5-month established planted 10g aquarium. I currently have a gravel substrate, a grouping of Java Ferns and 3 Dwarf Endlers in this aquarium. This may be silly to ask, but what are you all's suggestions on whether or not to quarantine plants from the Co-Op that I'll be receiving through the mail? Any suggestions regarding methods of quarantining the plants and if it's necessary at all are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! 🙂
