  1. Just wanted to say merry Christmas to everyone on this forum and hope you all have great day
  2. Hei jeg er fra norge og driver med akvarium. (Norwegian my first language)
  3. I have had good succes keeping adoketas between 6.5-7.5ph but have had no breeding.
  4. That about flow is mostly because they need very high oxygen content and clean water wich is way easier to accomplish with high flow
  5. I think there are some great suggestions above although i would add sand and rather make a diy bottle trap. I was also wondering if you could hook them up to each other as you say you have several, regarding the question with water params above. With the sand I meant for added water stability and some have said that plecos can be sensitive to bacteria that grows on the bottom glass.
  6. I know someone who has bred these and said that for the eggs to hatck you needed extremely acidic water but this was wild caught. I also have a pair that is much larger than yours but they will not breed
  7. Most blue eyed bnps are from lemon bnps but there are also albino lines if they are from europe i would not breed them with albinos as these are two different lines that can ruin eachother
  8. Yes i can not wait to see how they grow out to be, i currently have around 5-6 of them right now.
  9. I think i may have found the fish species it could be phoxinus phoxinus aka european common minnow wich is basically the european cousin of rainbow shiners. These fish where released in the 1950-1980 period.
  10. It could be but being that i live in the west of the country and that these fish only live in the east of the country, and the only fish I have seen in this area are trout. In conclusion I will have to wait and see what these grow out to be. Well this turned out into a mixed ramble🤪
  11. I live in europe more specifically scandinavia and i adore darters and am jealous of everyone who can keep them in the us but yesterday i discovered some darter looking fish, does anyone here know what they are. Pitcures below couldnt get the best pitcures but they have a slight red talfin when viewed from the side and the rest of the body is silver with black spots.
  12. Added some chilodus punctatus today awesome fish have been in my care for about a month in an other tank.
  13. I am hoping to get a gold nugget group of 6 to 8 individuals for my 90 gallon tank this is going to be a mix of what i think are cool fish but i am hoping to grow some out. The filter is a fluval 306 canister and two airstones and i may be adding a wavemaker, i will not be getting the gold nuggets in quite while because of hrmmm..... budget of a twelve year old and i want to make sure all the other fish are settled in. Current stocking: seven corydoras cw 023, one lone pineapple apisto female, and a pair of albino bnps.
  14. Adding some fish today seven cw023, one lone pineapple apisto female from my male died from unknown bloat reasons, and a pair of albino bnps.
  15. Starting my first ever journal on this forum super excited, this is going to be a blackwater community. Future fish stocking: Ivanacara Adoketa pair, rummynose tetras, l081 gold nuggets, columbian tetras, bristlenose plecos not sure what species, corydoras cw023 orange lazer, chilodus punctatus. Plant stocking: hydrocotle leucophola, cryptocoryne flamingo, bucephelandra biblis, saggitaria subulata and a tiger lotus. The filter is a fluval 306 canister with biorings and sponge. Currently I have some palm leaves and alder cones also have a big piece of mangrove wood that will probably leechsome more blackwater. This journal will probably also include my 45 gallon. pheew this got long now some pitcures.
  16. Wow congratulations these are supposed to be the hardest cory to spawn i have always wanted these congrats
  17. My favourite apisto is probably some of the wild types with blue and red like tefe , sp pebas, abacaxis, mendezi santa isabel. Just to name a few but i love basically all cichlids
  18. I have bred cacatoides by accident one time parents raised the fry but started eating them when the pair was ready to spawn again but sadly these had the same problem as your sons pair. What i would do is let the parents raise them to free swimming and then pull them. I kept these with kerri tetras and big guppys and the female defended them aggresively but did not injure any other fish. I also saw that the male did not take care of the fry but did not do anything to them. This pair spawned a week after putting them into a 20 long and just sexing them at the shop where they where housed with other conspecifics. This is just my experience and take everything with agrain of salt.
  19. If i had a 125 i would go with some larger l numbers with some big cichlids and a school of corydoras and or columbian tetras. If i would pick a pleco or pleco colony i would go with some wild type ancistrus and some big panaques. Remember these are my preferences but i basically love every fish but som i prefer over others. Take everything with a grain of salt
  20. I have found that endler parents will not eat there own fry but siblings can i got 50+ endlers from one pair
  21. Favourite fish i have ever kept Ivanacara Adoketa. Favourite fish I want and have not kept scobiancistrus / ancistrini sp. L082 pleco.
  22. ....when you have dried duckweed insead of dust or all you think is when will i set up that tank NOOWW!!!!
  23. I found pitcures of what i believe are wild variatus platys.
  24. If you want egglayers i would go with apistos or bristlenose, if your considering livebearers i would go with endlers as these are hardier than guppys abd will not eat there fry as much. And choose some fish that appeal to you because if not you will not have fun, and thats the meaning of the hobby.
