  1. Just ecocomplete, the monte carlo doesn't seem to fancy it much but it is spreading. Its a 75 Gallon
  2. Updated as a journal by suggestion, thank you all for your kindness and support 😜 Update April 20th I literally butchered the moss and plants this time... 😅 This is my sad attempt of trimming the tank down... Before Trimming After Trimming Older Post January February March Everything blew up... Trimmed at the end of March Early April.
  3. When I first got my 3 borneo sucker loaches I put them in a qt. It had a small piece of Driftwood and they seemed so small. I put in a little bit if raphasy they ate it pretty well. Cool good deal I thought. After a few days I only saw one. Looked around move the wood still one. Moved the filter, etc none to be found. I place the wood back in there's 3... Wth I thought, took the wood out again to make sure... only one... Put it back in 3... After the third time taking the wood out thinking it was a neat magic trick, or my eyes were failing me. Come to find out everytime I took the wood out, two of these little guys would latch on and chill on said piece of wood, out of the water, mocking me...
  4. Just saw Cory's nano fish video. Are these plecos ? Don't see much info on these guys, let alone where to find..
  5. Ok thank you, he/she isn't as fat bellied as the other one. I'll try to keep an eye on it over the next few days. It's pretty heavily planted, but they are pretty sociable.
  6. Don't think so, it's enclosed pretty well. Even one I have I had at 88 in a quarentine tank for ick, the casing was cool to the touch
  7. Only time I registered Amonia recently, about .25 when u stirred up a bit of the substrate cutting stems down and spreading them out. I primed it as well.
  8. Not sure if this were I should post this. But I noticed one of my Otocinclus has a red spot underneath the mouth between the gills. The other otos don't show this. He/she is very active munching away still. Thoughts? Oh 6.8 to 7.2 co2 during day, airstones at night. 0 Amonia, 0 Nitrite, ~10ppm nitrate (when I fertilized) gh/kh 8. Temp drops to about 74 to 74.5 in the morning. Climbs to about 76.5 in the evening on light cycle decline, over a 12-14 hour period.
  9. Like @StephenP2003 stated, they are mass produced and some end up with poor, or sloppy craftsmanship. It's just careless silicone placement. It serves no purpose other then looks ugly.
  10. Aqueon Tanks are Hit or Miss. You can easily take a razor blade and remove any excess silicone, with little to no issue. I've started inspecting the tank before purchase. But as long as you don't run the razor in between the panels your fine. The biggest issue is a good seal, which you can only find out useally by test filling. A few air bubbles between the panel isn't bad per say, but a tank will tell you pretty quickly if it's a dud during a test fill over a day or two.
  11. Add how long bacteria lives with out oxygen ie, in canister filters etc. This be really cool tbh 💯
  12. So far is say the satisfaction from it. Many ups and downs learning and it's been able to teach me paitence, and cull my urge for instant gratification. I mean I could keep throwing money at it, but life is only going to do what it WANTS to do with what it works with. I work all over the US as a diamond core driller so I end up work for weeks at a time, on my days off I spend my time learning, and working on my aquariums. My wife fills in most of the maintenance when I'm working. And our children are taking more of an interest watching how things develop. I've probably wasted more money then I needed to, but now backing off and utilizing things I like I'm actually happy with what I achieved so far. My main tank must be happy to because I ended up getting a rack setup with several tanks for fry purposes, because it's full of babies. Maybe it can pay me back? 😂
  13. Thank You all so far for the replies, be nice to get as many people as possible to post.
  14. HOW OFTEN DO YOU FEED? Curious, there is so much conflicting information on this, whether it be species, specific regiments, or just as simple when they remember... Some say early morning then mid day, while some go as far as saying once a week or longer. "A healthy fish is a hungry fish" etc, etc.. Please tell me Why, When, and what foods you prefer. I'd like to get anyone's and everyone input on this, and their reasoning behind it. My current Community Tank is a 75 gallon planted(some still adjusting) that homes 30 Ember Tetras, 25 Pygmy Corydoras, 75+(100+) breeding Red Cherry Shrimp, 5 Amano, 2 Otocinclus, 3 Borneo Sucker Loach, 3 Blue Neon Gobies, 12 Forktail blue eyed Rainbows, 5 Black Bar Endlers(Moving to a breeding tank) 8 breeding Mystery Snails (Purple, Gold, Blue) Few Nerites, and 5 or so Ninja Thai Micro Crabs.
