Fish Folk
This plastic fry container clouded over. But you can make out the fry “skating around.” 1

Tihshho
It would be nice to be able to keep these guys in tubs, but I doubt I could keep the water cool enough during the summers.

Put them in large tubs (100+ gallons), bury partially in the ground to balance temperature, and keep in the shade. Add airline with air-stone and / or external pump that dumps water back in to keep water moving. Warm water is OK as long as there is enough dissolved oxygen. 3

Fish Folk
Just a rambling video. Tank us looking a bit worse for the wear… lots of algae. But fish are thriving. Got sone aggression going on between two Banded Sunfish. R. Shiners are still spawning now and then. Small cache of fry doing well in floating flow-through container. Odd Duck
Looks like Christmas moss. And I really like your little banded sunfish. Edited June 25, 2022 by Odd Duck
Fish Folk
I’m quite excited to be starting a Rainbow Shiner aquarium setup at home. I’ve sold off the Emerald Killifish, and plan to do a long term Rainbow Shiner breeding setup here in the 33-long. The Rainbows may have a “bluer” cast to them. I’ll keep this thread active… Edited July 26, 2022 by Fish Folk 1
Fish Folk
I’m now working with two lines of Rainbow shiners. My first line fired up today, and dropped some eggs.., (Added stone catcher… then several hours later…) Now, yesterday, I got a very small batch of Rainbow Shiners with a more blue caste… Now, SOME of that color is from LED lighting. But on the whole, there is a difference. No eggs yet from newbies. 2
