Heaters?

I just realized this morning that my heater has given up the ghost, so I'm looking for any recommendations you all have. I've been reading reviews, and I've gotten a bit overwhelmed with all of the choices out there.

I have a been running several orlushy heaters for the past year. Dirt cheap on Amazon. They have even survived my dumb mistake of draining water past the heater coils and seeing smoke. They keep the temperature super consistent.

I also run the eheim yagers, and they're great as well, but really long.

I've had good luck with the Eheim Jager and Aqueon Pro heaters

I am also in the market for some new heaters.  Want to get an additional for my 75g and the one in my 29g doesn't keep my water warm enough.

I am running a aquatop heater. It was pretty cheap and came with a handy plastic cage around it that seems to keep my snails from crawling directly on it. I think I paid roughly 25 and it is adjustable temp.

I've seen a lot online about how great the Fluval E series, but man is that price hard to swallow! It seems like there are a range of decent alternatives out there. 

Maybe a better question would have been: are there any brands or models to stay away from?

I’ve had amazing luck with the Fluval E Series love it so far

The safest way to go is to get a heater with a controller. Eventually all heaters fail and if it fails in the on position, it will kill your fish.

One way to avoid this is to get a heater and controller. Although this is the safest route it is not the cheapest. This JBJ heater and controller combo is about $100.

My longest lasting heaters are Aqueon and Eheim Jager. Both seem to work well for me, and I can always get the Aqueon ones locally which is nice.

I have Aqueon 200 watt heaters in all my tanks . Bought on Amazon.

I personally  have never  heard of a brand of heater to avoid. I however do like to avoid none adjustable ones. @ShySnail

Whatever heater you go with get a controller. I have Ink Bird controllers on all my tanks.

I try to avoid needing a heater whenever possible. Because I was once young, I would never use glass. I happen to have a Fluval here and there, just cause I got one with a tank, and bought a matching one, and they are not glass. I have some pico fixed heaters, but I only use one now, for a Betta.

I would use my Apex or a controller for anything temp-sensitive.
