I've cut back feedings added chateo not as much as I'd like by far the rest of the the macro algea didn't work because of lighting the rest is on the way do weekly water changes change out the filters regularly or more often and added layers to them (canister and hang of the back) have a protein skimmer running initially it started with a bio overload of snails but the nitrates just keep climbing I even stopped feeding certain foods that I knew caused more problems like clam and mussle all the other levels have gone back to normal

Reef to reef is the forum I use for my tank for the most part -
He had a rough day so he needed a drink on a real note has anyone vodka dosed for nitrates the only issue I still have is sky high nitrates(long story about rookie mistakes corrections are being made or have been made) and with this injury that is not good as it's caused siano bacteria in the tank

More and more rock a little cheato holder made out of a fish breeder net can't seem to get a good way to keep the water in the tank while feeding the eel though thus the streaks everywhere after a feeding -
Sad to say but also ghost shrimp have a short life mine were fine for a while got them around the size you did but passed a few months after everything was fine in the tank at that point other than that I'm not sure
-
How long have they been set up

Old sand substrate under new fluorite black
Samanthabea replied to Stef's topic in General Discussion
Not sure if it is true but my bagged live sand instructions say to mix new substrate slowly with old over a few days -
Just curious 3 are very light color and the rest are very dark is this just taking after parents or something else I have silver mollies a swordtail and I can't remember the breed of the last one but here's a picture
-
I don't think it will keep happening but I do have a male swordtail with the female mollies the net didn't stay above the water completely even with the clips so they just had to find the right spot and go out hence the container surrounded by the net as a backup problem is my town doesn't have the floating breeder nets and the only place that has live fish has adults so I have to keep them at least till they are big enough not to be eaten next time I go to Petco or PetSmart is when I can get a small floating one this still takes a large amount of room in the tank or ordering online but the mail system has been just oh so great lately
-
They escaped last night so I had to round them up again not that fancy but do you guys think this will work long term the inside of the net is a Tupperware container drilled out
-
Not as hard to catch them as I thought it'd be
-
-
I have some old netting from a broken fry net and algea clips clip each side to kinda keep it open think that would work for now?
-
-
I thought I might be able to feed them crushed flakes biggest problem is this is a 6.5 gallon tank....I don't think the net will fit I have it in my saltwater now acting as a plant pen
-
-
My mollies never messed with my shrimp
-
That's what I thought I was confused on them selling it as a platty after it had grown a bit I didn't think they had the trait in any species
-
So I got this guy as a platty now I'm pretty sure he's actually a swordtail he's progressively grew a longer tail over time

Aiptasia I think I'm ganna let them be not like I have coral or anything like that one disappeared I think the trigger ate it -
I think you caught him "sleeping" unless he is acting strange constantly/more often then I'd worry about disease parameters seem normal

Nitrate is a tiny bit high but not anywhere near panic levels(trust me my saltwater has been high for a week I keep lowering it though fish are still healthy) when you say gh(for gh I don't know I don't have a specific test for that) and kh what do you mean exactly my tests have a conversion chart for drops to ppm and strips I have is just ppm
