  1. What are your water parameters ammonia nitrite nitrate pH KH GH temperature any rapid breathing loss of appetite
  2. That's highly unlikely I have kept fish for over 20 years i have never gotten sick off one of my aquarium I take some precautions no putting your hand in the tank if you have cuts wear gloves always wash your hand after they have been in the tank am assuming your cycling your tank and don't have fish in it if your do Any ammonia toxic to fish if your seeing ammonia you would want to do a 50% water change and add a double dose of prime to help detoxify any ammonia till your ammonia constantly stays at zero and do daily testing
  3. With salt catappa leaves already I would just monitor very closely over the next couple of weeks if you notice wound starting to get worse again then I would do another course of kanaplex and jungal fungus clear fizz tabs hopefully It will heal you will probably be left with some noticeable scar tissue
  4. I just tape it off and use a small hacksaw blade to cut the hole @Cjbear087
  5. I have two juwel aquarium and the filter are under powered when you have all the filter pads the flow a lot less than what they say that why I removed the build in filter and use canister filter on my tanks if your going to use the build in filter I would use an internal filter at the other side of the tank to prevent dead spots you can get an eccoflow 1500 power head if I remember rightly is compatible with your filter
  6. Sorry for your loss he probably became to weak due to lack of food and sadly lossed the fight at least you did your best to try and turn him around
  7. UV sterilisers work by breaking the DNA chains of bacteria and viruses stopping them from reproducing if your UV light is powerful enough UV light sude be a minimum of 1 watt per 3 gallons to kill bacteria and viruses if your betta had mycobacterium maximum I would steriliser all your equipment the tank he was in with a very high dose of 3% hydrogen peroxide leave it two dry then repeat the process then leave the tank running without fish for a minimum of 4 weeks with the uv steriliser running before considering adding new fish @anodyne99
  8. Moving them would be stressful in there weaken condition that can lead to secondary infection I would leave them were in quarantine and I would add some aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 2 gallons and add some more Indian almond leaves and monitor for two weeks after two weeks if they healing eating well no sign of redness then I would make a decision on put them back in the main tank @bbitsaboy
  9. Whitmore's disease is very uncommon a little more information would be helpful what are your water parameters ammonia nitrite nitrate pH KH GH temperature filtration picture of the fish will help with a diagnosis and what symptoms are you seeing to suspect whitmore's disease
  10. Yes that good plan you need to do a minimum of three course of prazipro even if they stop flashing to kill all the flukes
  11. First thought was mycobacterium that really common in rainbow fish that what could be going on looking at the pictures or it's developed a secondary bacterial infection after injuring itself I would do a course of kanaplex and jungal fungus clear fizz tabs containing nitrofurazone following this treatment plan for more severe bacterial infections @ange
  12. What I would suggest is monitor for a couple of days if there still flashing several times an hour then I would treat with prazipro once every two weeks for 3 full courses of treatment so you would want to treat week 1 week 3 week 5 @MiamiObi
  13. Flashing can be caused by a number of things ich flukes chlorine or ammonia burn to the gills as the flashing started after you added new fish I would be learning towards Gill flukes have you notice any rapid breathing hanging out near the surface lethargy @MiamiObi

    Columnaris?

As it's internal and not on the surface that rules out columnaris I have seen similar internal masses there not caused by a parasitc infection it won't spread to your other fish treatment options there's not a lot i could suggest other than monitor for now
  15. Salt can cause a reaction with some copper based medication that why I wouldn't recommend using the two together I don't no if that would effect the concentration of copper when your testing

    Columnaris?

It looks internal could a a cancerous or benign growth it's difficult to say for sure has it got bigger since you first noticed it @Buttchinart
  17. Colu

    Columnaris?

If it's been going on for three weeks very unlikely to be columnaris that would have killed your fish by now can you try and get a better picture
  18. That odd that the level of copper is falling so quickly what I would suggest is getting ick X and aquarium salt and treat with both aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 5 gallon as ich causes massive electrolyte loss and the salt adds back in essential electrolytes and ick x don't use salt with copper based medication it can make them toxic in some instances @cichlidx80

    Columnaris?

Could be columnaris that's a gram negative bacterial infection that spreads more quickly at temperatures over 75 and can kill in 24hr to 7 days depending on the stain the most effective treatment is kanaplex and jungal fungus clear fizz tabs containing nitrofurazone following this treatment plan if you have shrimp in your tank I would quarantine any fish symptoms as kanaplex and jungal fungus can be harmful to them and treat with medication I recommended I would check your water parameters just in case something off @Buttchinart
  20. albinism is caused by autosomal recessive gene that causes pigmentation changes and is extremely rare in wild fish as to your question hopefully some more knowledgeable will have the answer genetic isn't something that I have researched
  21. pictures I've seen of chili rasbora looks a lot like yours am about 95% sure that what you have
  22. It might be a nasty injury it could body rot I wouldn't recommend Melafix it's only effective as mild antiseptic treatment at best and can be a Gill irritant what I would do is a course of kanaplex it's a broad spectrum antibiotic treatment and you could add some Indian almond leaves as they have antibacterial and antifungal properties you might have to add one leaf per gallon to get a beneficial effect @Phoenixsw
  23. Colu

    Guppy Fin Clamp

You could add some crushed coral to help raise your KH and GH you would want to add one pound of crushed coral per 10 gallons to the substrate or in a media bag in your filter @Guupy42
  24. It could be a bacterial infections api general cure isn't effective at treating columnaris one of the active ingredient metronidazole does treat aeromonas that a gram negative bacteria most effective treatment for columnaris i have is kanaplex and jungal fungus clear fizz tabs containing nitrofurazone following this treatment plan fry are more sensitive to medication so I would a course of kanaplex and add some Indian almond leaves as they have antibacterial and antifungal properties you might have to add one leaf per gallon to get a beneficial effect keep a close eye of your water parameters and add an extra air stone during treatment@Zeaqua
  25. Given the length of time and and fact he hasn't responded to treatment it could be organ failure causing the pineconing unfortunately if that the case the outcome isn't good you could do the last week of metroplex to honest I don't think that will make much of difference at this point
