  1. Well… I’ll give it a go! (some of these are only in my dreams I know!) 1) Fish room, so I can… 2) create a Florida Biotope tank 3) Breed something… ANYTHING. Fill my own tank with fish that bred. 4) try saltwater tank 5) keep a Boesemani Rainbow tank 6) keep a massive school of Cardinal Tetra
  2. I am so sorry. I've spent many an afternoon or evening popping in to watch Murphy on the cam because I had a rough day or just needed a little "Happy Thoughts" time. Watching him was peaceful and therapeutic. He will be so very missed.
  3. I’m thinking they are some type of detritus worm, they don’t have an arrow shaped head . But just in case, I’m going to treat for planeria any suggestion on best product to use?
  4. This is the clearest I can get photos Ok, so the more I observe them and research, I think they are Rhabdocoela worms. Which, I’m ok with… lol
  5. I tried to zoom in but it just gets fuzzy. I noticed there are several on the tank glass, different sizes..all just creeping along the inside of the glass. I cant notice any 'arrow' shaped haed, but cant magnify it to be certain. Im praying they arent planeria. but I dont know how they would have gotten in their as nothing new has been added in a few months
  6. Ok.. never seen this before. Fairly certain it’s not a detritus worm…it’s thicker and is zooming around in circles on the glass inside the tank?
  7. Yes, he’s bringing Matt, he announced it on one of his recent vlogs! Oh!!! I’m going too! We should meet up!!!!!!
  8. Elodea and Duckweed both are nutrient hogs, lol. They’ve ganged up and decided to starve off the PSO!
  9. Wow! Ima be buying a filter tomorrow then!
  10. I’ve got PSO in 4 tanks and haven’t dealt with any leaves shedding. Is there a fish that’s plucking them maybe? Or possible deficiency?
  11. Saw this. Not technically a Prime Day deal, but it’s the cheapest I’ve seen it anywhere AquaClear 110 Power Filter, Fish Tank Filter for 60- to 110-Gallon Aquariums https://a.co/d/32Mtn6b
  12. Yeah, that would be a bit too expensive for a 75g tank, lol
  13. A few months ago, I purchased a 75g aquarium and stand with the intention of getting it up and running by the end of this year... but then life happened. we now find ourselves with a lot less budget for all the bells and whistles than we had and in need of trying to save where possible. Im not willing to skimp on my filtration... but, substrate my save me quite a bit if I can get away with less expensive alternatives. Curious to hear from those that use/have used this as substrate in their aquariums. I've seen several YouTube vlogs where fish keepers use this as a cheaper alternative to aquarium sand. I am curious as to your experience. My main concerns are: 1) Is it safe for Corydoras and Kuhli loaches 2) I understand that it's inert, but have you had any issues with being able to grow plants in it with good root tabs and ferts?
  14. I use a turkey baster in my 5g tanks and 10g tanks.
  15. You can look into Nicrew. I use a couple of them and I’m very happy with the plant growth in those tanks NICREW ClassicLED Gen 2 Aquarium Light, 32 Watts, Dimmable LED Fish Tank Light with 2-Channel Control, White and Blue LEDs, Size 36 to 48 Inch https://a.co/d/fjiyPYR NICREW Full Spectrum Planted LED Aquarium Light, with Timer, for Freshwater Fish Tank, 36-48 Inch, 25 Watts https://a.co/d/8pEKOgS
  16. Maybe I can grow my own Corys for this tank… if I can manage to stop dropping the eggs!🤪
  17. Well. That didn’t take long. No sooner disposed of fuzzy eggs and BAM… more eggs appear 😂. Her goes attempt No. 2 (I’ll be moving this to. Journal)
  18. Single Pea Puffer.. Giant personality in teeny tiny package
  19. Sadly, I did not manage to hatch any. Woke up this morning and they were fuzzy😢. Will try again and be better prepared. Dang it! I was looking forward to growing my own fish!
  20. You can absolutely do a tank on a budget. When I restarted my hobby a few years ago, I did it with a 5.5g Aquarium kit that came with lid, light, filter, net and thermometer. I purchased a heater ($9 then, about $15 now) and a Tetra whisper air pump (about $12 now), a bag of gravel and some silk plants. Total then was around $65-$70. Now it’s probably $80-$90 for the same set up. That tank is still running and houses my Betta, Taz. Petco will have 50% off sales on their tanks several times a year and it’s a good place to pick up your tank. Keeping your budget in mind, get the biggest you can afford. A 10g or 20g will allow you to house a few fish (5g you’ll only be able to keep 1, maybe 2). Sponge filters are the most economical and least laborious, ACO Sponge filters are awesome ($7-$9) as well as ACO heaters($26). A tetra whisper air pump are inexpensive and work great and I found mine for around $15. Substrate and decor depends on taste and budget, but there are deals in those as well. you can also check FaceBook Marketplace in your area for aquarium supplies. I bought three 10g for $5 each last year
  21. If I can manage to master hatching Albino Cory eggs, then perhaps eventually, I'll give Panda's another try.
  22. If you have pea puffers, you won’t be over run with snails, lol. Each puffer can eat 4-5 small snail at a feeding. You might struggle to keep up. I keep them in snail only tank and feed them really really well. I alternate Xtreme sinking wafers and Repashy Community plus daily. Their populations will explode if you feed them regularly and heavily
  23. @Odd Duck that’s what my tank looked like Monday morning. Unfortunately, this is all I managed to save and I don’t think these are fertile
  24. I purposely started 2 small “Snail Farm” tanks. 1 with bladder snails, the other with Ramshorn snails. I couldn’t get mine to eat frozen blood worm often. They loved smooshed snails though
  25. They weren’t squishy, I’m just clumsy and dropped most of them trying to scrape them off the glass. I’ll have to work on my technique. None were floating- I put the in a disposable storage cup with tank water and floated that inside the tank
