Bought a 10 pack of nettle shrimp lollies. This within 2 minutes.

There are a lot of wilds in the 29, so I put one in there too, but they didn’t go for it. I think they are nervous about the fish. I don’t really want this to be an expensive snail treat, but I left it in there because I saw a shrimp or two near it, eyeing it. I did put it in a plant to hopefully make them feel more comfortable. I had to leave home. Later it will be gone and I won’t know who ate it. 🥲 Ah well.

Romeo and Bon Bon are enjoying it for now.

Been wondering what to do with my nettle-infested vegetable garden (also known as a nice place to put a deck chair and read)…I’ll look into it!

I really love this thing. It was $5 and it’s great for leftover food, or splitting up brine shrimp batches. Last week I fed the shrimp on a day they weren’t hungry. I got the food out of the tank with a pipette and made cubes.

The size of a frozen store bought brine shrimp cube is too big for my fish also. So I thaw it and split it in my tray. Now I can feed the little portions and see how much they eat.

This is marketed as an ice cube tray. I have found that candy molds are too big for most of my purposes.

Yes! Marks Shrimp Tanks on YouTube harvests nettle from his garden. I believe he made a video. I wonder if you can just blanch a leaf and let the shrimp pick it apart? Just take care that there are no pesticides on the leaf.

This tray is way too simple for you. Just squares?

I'm surprised 😄

Not sure your kiddos will go after basic squares after all those shapes you spoiled them with

He uses the dehydrator a lot for his foods due to longevity and storage.

From before, here's the video on the clay balls

They are made of unfinished ceramic and will “house” beneficial bacteria also.

Ha! Those are hilarious!
Imagine if you could do one big megastructure tho…

See @nabokovfan87, the shrimps like snails.

I don't see the shrimp smiling... That's the face of a shrimp hoping it gets some scraps.

Looks perfect. Nicely done. I enjoy those little shrimp things. It's the same stuff I have all my pleco caves made from.

Heck, you could put the little cubes inside the big house and that would give them a place where the snails and the Snoopy can't get to them. It'll be interesting to see how the interaction between all 3 develops and where the shrimplets end up hiding.

The entrances to this house are definitely too small for anyone but shrimp.

They do spend a fair amount of time in the cholla wood and the plants. There are a couple fake logs in there too, but I can’t see into them to know if they are being used. Actually, I believe I did see a shrimp enter one when I was doing maintenance.

For making it? I just follow the packaging.

Things do not come out of the molds well unless I freeze first.

Good point on freezing, it wasn’t coming out for me and I froze it to keep it fresh longer. I did notice it came out easy after.

(I’ve only made it once but I did make a gelatin homemade version years ago)
