I'm hoping that the sunfish will be peaceful. Edited February 12, 2022 by Fish Folk

Native Keeper
I know that E. gloriosus can live in a 20 gallon, so I would say that it sould be able to as well.

Patrick_G
Beautiful! I’ve always wanted a Sunfish/Bluegill/Bream tank and this little species seems perfect for a home aquarium.

Fish Folk
Friday is a big day… E. obesus pair arriving! BTW, I called MD DNR and got the all clear to keep these. Sone states are strict, and won’t allow.
OnlyGenusCaps
Yup. Officially new fish season there. I had to think about the for herps. Ugh. Somedays, I feel like all we'll be allowed to keep in this country is guppies and goldfish - and maybe not even those as they can escape and go feral.

I have kept wild sunfish that arrived in a goldfish shipment. They are shockingly timid fish except when it comes to their nesting area. Then they have been known to attack humans! Cant wait to see these guys in your tank! That is some beautiful coloration. On 2/17/2022 at 5:15 AM, OnlyGenusCaps said: Yup. Officially new fish season there. Its funny I was talking to friends about this a few days ago. I really do think it’s a travesty. Glad to see some dedicated people keeping the flame going. Although I think it’ll just end up being prohibition but for fish and herps. Speakeasy with fish tanks on lazy susans and fake walls.
