Torrey
I thought Watson had passed, I came home from the doctor appointment and he had let go of the wall and was on his back with no muscle tone. I didn't know that temp drops (our heat is not connected yet) could trigger a snailburnation.🙄 I put him in a smaller container, right side up, and placed him in a warm, darker location (above the turtle for overnight). This morning, antenna were reactive, so I floated the container in my QT tank after talking with @Guppysnail. I picked up some hair algae infested pearlweed, and Watson took the hair algae into the container. Watson's buddy, Houdini, can only reside in locking lid tanks, due to his affinity for walkabouts. Since I didn't know what had happened with Watson, I had taken Houdini out of the snail tank, and moved him to the 4' in my spouse's room. He's thrilled with the algae on the wood. Thanks to Guppysnail, Pebbles now has a name
xXInkedPhoenixX
@Torrey is Watson a Nerite too? Hard for me to tell in the dark recesses of cup cave. Snailburnation (lol) sounds right for cold water. I wonder if there are other triggers. The tank my buddy BFG is in is unheated but runs 78-82 naturally. Maybe like me he wants to nap when it's warm and comfy. Edited October 1, 2021 by xXInkedPhoenixX

I have their cousins the Ramshorn and they do so weird stunts in my tank. I over fed them a little to put them in my other tank as well. It’s amazing to see them moving in the little egg sac if you get a magnifying glass. Well like two weeks in from being laid!

He is an olive (something I don't remember the name) and reminds me of a barnacle on the bottom of a boat, or a limpet, the way he holds on to a surface and refuses to budge no matter how much the danios bump into him. I didn’t know nerites liked hair algae thanks to @Torreysuggestion im going to grow hair algae rocks for Nemo. For whatever reason in mytanks blue light on for 3 days grows hair algae on everything including rocks. I love finding new ways to feed Nemo. He is a very picky 🐷

Notice the bladder snails hitching a ride🤣
xXInkedPhoenixX
Glimmer, (pictured here) my accidental Mystery Momma was my snail most recently in Snail Hospital. She looks terrible (shell-wise) compared to her companions but in the end her oldest companion Escape' (can't get that accent over the last e, stupid keyboard) passed away in the last month. She was with me for well over a year and was actually companion to my Betta Kimono (pictured in my chat profile pic) in a 5 gallon when I first got her. She's (Glimmer) been motoring around well enough in the tank lately but I keep a watchful eye on her. Glimmer is still very pretty to me. I love her dark body and red dots. I am so sorry to here about Escape. I recently lost two of my elderly babies. Glimmer will always be beautiful. I hope you and Glimmer and Immaculate are doing ok. Mine huddled around their ailing sisters until she passed then did not eat from the food bowl for two days. My condolences and a huge internet hug. xXInkedPhoenixX
@Guppysnail thanks we all appreciate the support. Glimmer is actually doing pretty well and the boy, Pegasus who I got at the same time does better than anyone. Immaculate has been hiding at the back of the tank for a couple of days but I think she's ok as every time I check on her she's in a different position. I'm sorry you lost your snail babies too. 😞 They definitely do mourn.
xXInkedPhoenixX
This is one of my Parent Tank's 2 Zebra Nerites. I didn't check if it was Speck or Dash just a quick photo. I asked them if they could please do the floors after they finish the windows.....(they kindly advise me by not doing it that they don't do floors)

Holds to the glass like a limpet, lol
Torrey
Houdini finally allowed me to set up to take a picture. The piece of wood is about 4" in from the glass. So quarter is ~4" closer to the camera? Meanwhile, if I put the phone against the glass to get the picture: I estimate that Houdini (the one who opens unlocked lids and goes walkabout) is slightly larger than a quarter... 1

xXInkedPhoenixX
My boy, Pegasus, is such a peacock. He'd been attached to my now solo female (technically his offspring) for several hours and strutted off with his antenae as wide as they could get.... little brat....sometimes I wonder if I should put one of them in another tank. I feel like he harasses them too much. Edited November 12, 2021 by xXInkedPhoenixX
