  1. Sorry i accidentally pushed a button now I guess I have to reply. I couldn’t figure a way out New fish today. Calico super reds and super reds for the breeding projects.
  2. Just received some new SR plecos and some calico red plecos today. See what we can raise. Bought them from Michael’s fish room.
  3. Just a couple pics. My browns have been showing some breeding signs. Hoping it happens in the next few days. Also saw my male super red fanning by his cave. I put a different female in going to change the genetics up a smidge. Trying to get the most red plecos as possible.
  4. My favorite thing to do, or I should say one of them is to write down what I been doing to see if I can find out what causes my fish to breed. So far it’s just plecos. Working on some others. Stay tuned. 😊
  5. Another water change for the discus. hoping my browns breed which I think this big ole brown is trying to do. And a quick pic of my super red fry. And I’m hoping my super reds breed soon again.
  6. Making money 💰 Lol that pic of that guy though that cracks me up. Living in that matrix
  7. Lol, yeah pretty special. There for sale 😜. Obviously (I think) there for my cucumbers and zucchini in my pleco tanks. When I put the veggies on the tongs and drop them in the tank, the handle lands first and there’s enough buoyancy on the veggie it keeps it off the ground so all the fry can jump on for a bite. But still for sale ha
  8. Things definitely posting faster. I didn’t know if it was my phone or not. It’s a brand “5G” and is slower then my old phone ha. Finished setting up my pleco breeding tank. And did some tank maintenance. I been using this specimen container for maintenance on the tanks. Looks like I need a couple more for what there actually made for.
  9. That’s awesome. There’s a YouTuber in Australia that did something like your gonna do. It’s a great idea.
  10. I’m really like them. I was a huge dark angle fan which Don’t get me wrong still a stunning fish. But checkerboards 👌🏽
  11. Did a water change in the Discus tank aka the chicken coop. I had a forty breeder that had nothing in it for awhile just water and algae. But today I added some housing and caves for plecos. Wiped down the glass and bought a new heater. Now I have some browns BN I gonna pair. Can’t wait to see what happens. I also dumped the super reds in the grow out. And cleaned the albino BN tank out. Man what a day. And to top off the day bought a new canister filter for the 125. It was a great day

  13. Also forgot to mention. I also have thought about the gelatin mixed with beef heart. I might try that this weekend. for me I don’t think it leaves a huge mess but I would like for it to stay high for a bit instead of going straight down. I’ll let ya know if I do.
  14. Wow that’s awesome. So in the morning as I walk out the door at 8. I feed them jack whattley D-50 baby/juvenile pallets or tetra crisp. Both are really high in protein. My light are on timers and go on At 7:30 so there awake ready to eat. when I come home at 12:30 I feed them beef heart also from jack just cause it’s a little cheaper I feed when I walk in the door and feed them with flake as I walk out xcaliber spirulina or community flake also high in protein. I get home I feed either brine or more beef heart. And before I go to bed I feed them more crips or flake. On the weekends or when I’m home like you I feed them all day and every other day I do water changes I have mange to keep the nitrates to 0 thus far. where do you get black worms. I have often thought about that. But just don’t have a great direction. i use to feed bloodworms but I had a flowerhorn get a parasite and pass away and every time I feed them those it just ran through my head, so I just stopped I’m thinking about plants but in time. I have plants almost in every tanks now.
  15. I received them in December before Christmas. So about 4 months. At 2-2.5 “ the checker has reached 4 “ I have 5 more 6 total that have stayed a little smaller. Discus Hans sent me a reference chart and they seem to be in track. One thing I didn’t know is at 2-2.5” size you need to feed at least 5 times a day and do water changes everyday or every other. I did not know that going in. They recommended buying them at 4” and above. Then “ all the hard works is done “ is what I herd in a YouTube video from Hans lol. I wouldn’t do it another way anymore but I think I lost about 3-4 weeks of proper care not knowing this. Sport for rambling. Love talking fish. How big did you buy yours at. Where did you get them from?
  16. Wow man he looks awesome. Great pic to. Yeah, you know I have had these for about 3 month and absolutely love them. Always moving. no problem man. Thanks for taking interest. It awesome to talk to others about the hobby exactly why I got in board. lol that big ole girl. Shes been with me for a very long time. First shirmps I ever owned. There were six shes the last of the amano but as you can see living large lol.
  17. Beautiful fish. Mine are growing but don’t seems as fast. I’m guessing cause I see them everyday. Every other day water changers 50% and feed 4-5 times a day. Everything in the kitchen ha. Time will tell
  18. Haha. I like that King Kong. I noticed that the other day when he came to the front usually he’s sets in back. I dropped a piece of beef heart and they loved it. Here’s the red tails. There’s three but one grew super fast, so he’s in the 125 with a bunch of others and he’s calmed down a bit.

  21. Hi everyone, I have been on the forum for a couple months? I’d have to check. I’m from Nebraska and been in the hobby 20+ years. It’s been my dream to have a fish room and the new house we bought has allowed me to have just that. I was into monster fish now I’m into breeding for profit. It’s a blast and I love the community aquarium co-op has made. I been to other forums and maybe after 100 replies you might get your question answered. This here is what it’s all about. Community! Total strangers coming together for the hobby. Oh when I say breeding for profit, I’m just learning. Working with super reds , brown, and albino plecos, Columbian tetras and cherry shrimp 🦐 You all have a great day! Lot of week left, let’s get it !! Juan.

I love my job. Love helping my crew members finding their passion within my area of operation and helping them get better at there jobs. I have had done lots of things from painting to working in aviation, framing and so on. I have been in the hobby of aquariums for 20+ years. And just starting to breed for profit. have a great day!
  23. Coupe pics of a few fish waiting to go into the 40 breeder. And a pic of the shrimp tank. All I had to do today was feed and enjoy. Have a great day all.
  24. You know, I tried that. And for some reason I had a lot of casualties as a result. It might of been that I removed them to early?maybe. I’ll try It gain but wait as long as I did this time around to release them. Still learning. I’ll find a method I’m sure and everyone has been so helpful on this forum.
  25. This was a quick set up I started for fear of losing another clutch of eggs due to over thinking. I actually have the reds breed in this 20h, and they do well in there no problems getting them to breed. After the eggs turn to wigglers and they munch down there egg sack, I made this rough fry bin, which obviously was inspired by Dean from the co-op. But only had a few parts here and there so this is so rough but works great. I will refine this down the road or maybe not. I like it cause I’m not taking the dad out of his own water or the eggs, fry. It’s heated and always have fresh water going through. There’s about 20-25 reds under that almond leaf 🍂
