I have already made many batches. One day before yesterday with no problems. And now no go.
Well, that different. I’m no expert, but I have noticed the yield drops pretty fast , even in the fridge. I keep the big container in the freezer, and put about one weeks worth in a small one in the fridge. My last batch had pretty low hatch rates, but it’s been a while since I topped it off.
with out knowing anything else, I would question if your eggs got wet, warm, etc. I would also make sure you have the right temp in the hatchery. After that, idk good luck

I like being a part of this forum. I try to share my experience, and I don't feel like I have anything to prove. @Cory, thanks for hosting.
I’ll second that.

I was interested in a living wall but couldn't get the mat so I just attached different kinds of anubias to the back and side walls using suction cups (learned this trick here on the forum). The cups are well hidden because the back of the tank is black. The wall is couple of month old and so far I like it, especially the because the placement of the plants can be changed at will and there is no loss of the space due to the mat thickness.
Got pictures? Please?

Filter squeezing s might help, but water itself is not a meaningful source of filter bacteria. It just carries waste for the most part, which is why keeping it isn’t all that useful
True the water itself has very little to offer in terms of the bacteria. But the mulm sucked up from the graver is chock full of the little buggers.

I think I’m seeing spawning behavior, but really I’m just guessing. She spend most of her time in one of the caves, cleaning and occasionally spitting stuff out. Sometimes she’ll come out and swim up to the dominant male then roll onto her side and swim back to the cave like she’s trying to entice. I caught it on video - what are your thoughts

I think the real trick is to remember @Cory is our host. Through his business, he has invested both time and money to set up this forum in hopes that it build interest in the hobby, resulting in more hobbyists, and in turn building his business. That is not the sole reason for his investment, evidenced by his personal efforts to help individuals with their issues and questions, but definitely a part of it.
if he is our host, then we are guests, and we should keep that in mind when post things. He has been very gracious, and is very understanding when we slip up. Certainly we can reciprocate.

@Cory has done several videos on brine shrimp. Here is the most recent.
It should cover most of your questions.

the garage is about 45 degrees, what is the temp of the water. I would fill the bucket the night before and let is sit in the house. should be close enough for a 25% change.

I like to do a gravel vac and use the mucky water (up to say 25%) to start the new aquarium. Really not that different that using a sponge from another tank, except is seeds across the tank instead of only in one part.

Boxing Day should be an aquarium holiday!
Do you mean we should change the name to Water Boxing Day?
I make me 😆 laugh

People are running sponge filters with the USB nano in 10 gal tanks and some even larger. The USB nano pumps 0.6 liters per minute. The internet says the Hagen Elite 799 pumps 1000 cc per minute. So more than big enough.
try it and see what happens. (And send pics when you git er dun)

How do I fix a Potassium problem?
Not sure if you have a potassium issue or some other trace element is off. Recommend adding root tabs and using some kind of liquid fertilizer. I love the easy line from Aquarium Coop.
@Cory designed it with all the trace elements, and one pump per 10 gal.

I would start by looking at nutrient deficiency.
Nutrient Deficiencies: Why Your Aquarium Plants Are Dying
WWW.AQUARIUMCOOP.COMDo you have the perfect planted aquarium setup, but your plants are still dying one by one? Even if you’re regularly dosing fertilizers, your plants might still be missing key nutrients. In this article, we want to teach how... -
If I read you right, you are saying when running an air stone, the heater either lets the temp get too high ow drop too low.
when it does not come on, how cold does the tank get?
when it stays on, how warm before u pull chocks on the air pump? -

I prefer salt treatments over meds.
I don't salt dip my betta, I just dose the tank for a week.
One of my bettas is in a 2.5gal, because any bigger and he stops swimming and eating. I think it partially blind.
According to the betta group I'm in, I "promote bad betta keeping habits" when I help others who have bad setups, by suggesting gradual upgrades or diys especially to people who are younger than I am, and trying hard, and cannot drive yet or get paid for chores and not say they have to have all the right equipment now.
Love that u recommend gradual changes. Sounds like ur betta group has some pretty strong opinions, and some have trouble distinguishing between fact and opinion.

Hard to go wrong with advice from @Streetwise. and why spend money on something you don’t need.
If it turns out your filters are too small, think about a sponge filter from ACO. they are super cheap and work well. On the plus side, no cartridges so no follow on costs. Maybe save your allowance.

Trimmed my Anubias and Java fern. Got ‘em glued to driftwood and rocks. Gonna give them to a friend to get him started in planted tanks. 🤪

Looking at the pics in the original post, recommend trimming back the old leaves. The are consuming nutrients that could support the new leaves.
