  1. @Dandy Pearl Thanks. The tank is rimless so this top will not fit. It is one that I had looked at. I have been thinking about making a frame for the top that would allow this type of cover. I still may do that.
  2. The hood that came with my 36g bf has a light in it but it's not as bright ad I'd like it. I have an extra finnex light that will fit but I'm not sure if it should go towards the front or the back. Thoughts? Also I hate this hood but I can't find a replacement that fits.
  3. For nerites or mysteries etc I'd do that. But these little pond snails are taking over.
  4. Does anyone else spend their sunday mornings staring at their tanks, holding a long pair of tweezers, picking off little snails??? Or is it just me?
  5. What are you doing with them when you cull out the ones you don't want?
  6. I bought 1 8" sprite from the co op 3 months ago. Its now at least a dozen plants in 5 tanks. In the original 36g there are 3. 1 goes almost to the top and the other 2 more than half way. These things grow like crazy.
  7. I have a few pond pumps i can use. In fact for filling i have been using them to pump ro water that i treat from 5 gallon buckets to the tanks. Its the carrying the old water I'm not too keen on. I may try pumping from the dirty bucket to the sink just to see if it's workable.
  8. The pack laying on their couch.
  9. I mentioned to my wife I wanted a python and when she was getting dog food at a bbs she got me their version. 50 ft (i need all of that) . It connects fine and I can't find any air leaks but it barely sucks and once the hose is full ut stops. Tbe tanks are at the same height as the sink. Is the bbs knockoff the same as the real thing and should I try thereal python? Or is there something else to try. Id really like to not haul buckets any more.
  10. Baby tears, bacopa caraliniana, pearl weed, java moss, and a red dwarf lily bulb. Most are going in a new 20 long that will house my growing family of guppies. Have 2 finnex stingray 30" on order that I think will get here today for that tank.
  11. Poor thing is just laying on the bottom now. Don't think he's going to make it. What really sucks is he was a rescue. Daughters friend had him in a vase. Had popeye and finrot. I treated with maracyn then maracyn 2 then furan and he wasfinally getting better. Now i think ive killed him.
  12. 5 months ago I bought a 36g bowfront on a petsmart sale. Now I have 7 tanks and trying to figure out how to get some bigger ones in my space. Found the coop a few months ago and have made a bunch of orders. Just received 6 more plants today. Love the blogs and youtubes that have been done. Started with some neons and corydoras. A month later added a 10g for a betta. Made the mistake(not really) of getting 3 guppies. Within 2 weeks had over 50. Have a few hundred now. Luckily my lfs will take them at about a month old. Ive really enjoyed seeing the little guys grow. There are a few siamese algea eaters in one of the tanks, a bunch of nerites, and my first sort of tank standout is a powder blue dwarf gourami as recommended by Cory. I can go into the room with my tanks and get lost for hours at a time. Glad to be here.
  13. So I thought I would add some shrimp to my betta tank. Put 2 pieces of cholla wood in getting ready for shrimp last night. Woke up this morning and my betta had swum into one end and got stuck about 3 inches in. After some woodcutting to split the cholla got him out. Torn up fins. Some damage to an eye but he is alive for now. Anyone else have this happen? Should I have known he would do this?
