They would have to be quite young to be trained to eat Repashy. I tried feeding mine some and got the “what are you thinking” look. It was definitely a no go. 😑

When I ordered mine...I just assumed that I put the tank together with a butt load of snails and they would be like Suicide Squad and kill everything😈 .... then they came so small... I was worried the snails would slap them around...😱

Maybe they could create a “stack” or “second filter” kit.  Otherwise people will end up with extra bases and tops.  😆

That's not a half bad idea.  The components are already made....just need two center cores and a sponge for the kit.  Maybe Cory will read this and see if its possible.  Not sure how cost effective it would be would be the only drawback I would think.

That it does. Every particle they eat 100 float to the ground.

Thats where the snails come in!   Hence.... @Guppysnail 😂

They go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly......like peas and carrots....like anchovies and mayo 😋

  4. I had no idea how tiny they would be when I got them.  They are about 1/4 of an inch.  Heck most of the snails are bigger than they are.  I had to go looking for a bunch of baby bladder snails to put in there for them.   They are rocking out on the BBS though.  It is so funny to watch them snipe the BBS😂😈

I am following this. I would love a pea puffer but am afraid it will eat ALL my beautiful bladder snails…solution 😁

I just setup a 20gallon High with 5 pea puffers.  There is a few driftwood pieces with plants all over them as well as floating plants and a coconut cave with water sprite attached to it.  I set it up and added about 100 bladder snails to it a day or so before they arrived.  Told them good luck and emulate Turbo if you can!😂

I’m sure there would be more potential for stray bubbles popping out through the top of the sponge vs the “chimney” part, but otherwise the top section of the sponge might be more likely to clog, and then you would be running on less total surface area.

Before I actually watched Corys video I had the air stone put all the way to the bottom of the tower.  I adjusted the air volume until I had good flow with no air leakage.  The key was to get the air line straight. Not always easy but doable when you heat it a little to relax the curve.

Another thought is to take 3/16 hard air line tubing to make a long straight pipe then add the stone to the bottom and connect to the lid.  This guarantees you centering the stone in the sponge filter and minimizing any stray bubbles while using the entire filter stack.

@JoshStover Your mission, 008, should you choose to accept it, is to make your way to your local lfs today.  Your contact will be whomever is in charge or whomever may have been there the last time you were there.  This contact should have information about the mysterious pea puffer breeder that has convinced their very particular, carnivorous puffers to eat Repashy.  Your mission must include finding out the details of exactly what type of Repashy these mystery puffers are eating and any preparation details you can determine.  This question is of vital international puffer security, health, safety, and the sanity of pea puffer owners worldwide.

That message will self destruct ....oh heck it already has...🤣

Hah!  I’m better than Tim the Toolman ever thought about being!  I have actual skills.  I’m a woman on a mission to maximize fishy health with minimal effort on my part!  A woman with her own tools, brain, and a willingness to do short term work to make lazy fish viewing with no effort the end goal.  A woman with a husband with even more tools and mechanical skill.  Together, we can conquer the fish world!   Bwahahahahahaha!

Oh, wait, was that just my dream last night?

And voila!  Brilliant design!  Nicely done, ACO!  With the right height tank this could go 3 or more, but do we know at what point air becomes not enough and a powerhead a necessity for full function?

Now I need to order more sponges to double up in all my big tanks.  I have plenty of air power to them since I needed larger air pumps for the depth, already have square footage made for them, so up is easy.

I only have a single nano in my 14 G cube since I didn’t want to go with the larger diameter of a “small”.  That tank is tall enough to do a double up on the tiny nano and it’s already hidden behind my tall wood centerpiece.  Then I’ll feel better about having an “undersized” back up sponge filter in there.

Since my air pumps are on battery UPS so I still have some filtration and surface agitation even during power outages, this gives me more filtration during any power outs.  This is part of why I have so much filter redundancy in my tanks, so my fishies are still covered even during power outages.

ACO, take my money!  😆 💵💰💸

I know when @Cory explains how to set up the Sponge filters...he recommends to have the air stone as close to the top as possible.  I wonder if when stacked that would be the same recommendation or to place the air stone farther down?

So you’re saying I should add more filtration to my super-redundancy of sponge?  😆

I’ll have to check into how to do that.  Do I just pop off the base and then the inner cage bits snap together?  Seems like adding a powerhead to a stack would make for a super sponge!

Take the top off of the first sponge ...the one the air stone attaches to and set aside.....on the second sponge remove the base keeping the 2 cages and sponge with top together.  Snap that assembly onto the the first sponge assembly with the base and wallah....double sponge using one airline.

If you have a really deep tank you can do this for however many sponges will fit stacked up.

yes if you needed a powerhead in your tank this would be a great way to do it.

After finding Aquarium Co-Op only a month ago, I have watched hours and hours of videos, received three order of product and become a YouTube member. So I just wanted to leave a note here for @Cory and the whole team over there to say thank you!

The videos have helped this longtime newbie actually understand tank cycling, using live plants and so much more.

All the orders I have placed have come incredibly fast, 2-3 days tops and the value of the products has been well worth the cost.

I appreciate the work that has gone into cultivating an assortment of products that are good quality and get the job done.

Thank you for creating this ecosystem where hobbyists can learn, share and buy!😀

Only 3 orders.... you need to get busy.....🤣

Seriously though....Aquarium Coop is the finest when it comes to online ordering, information, customer service and really customer support.  Any question any issue or if you just want to say thank you... @Candi is there to take care of you.  On the information @Cory videos are priceless.  I thought I knew alot about fishkeeping....WRONG!!!  I have learned so much from his videos...that alone is worth the price of admission.

Now they have @Zenzo on the team makes it even better as he is another priceless resource for us to gain information from.  Last but absolutely not least...this forum is the Crown Jewel of the entire Empire that is the CoOp.  Here we are family and we all come together to enjouy this hobby and to learn from one another.  You will find someone who specializes in every aspect of this hobby....from plants....to fish....to diseases to breeding everything and anything.

So sit back and enjoy the show....and welcome to the family!

From bearded dragon experience…snails removed from the shell (I purchased did not remove myself I think they were land snails) were eaten as a treat. They are high protein calcium iron and vitamin A. Very low fat.  If you have the patients to do this perhaps dry (avoid excess ammonia maybe) and crush and mix in repashy. The snails won’t like it but at least it becomes part of the food chain. Maybe crush or freeze first

    Snail Murderer😱

  12. When I was doing my fish room ...I could use the drains immediately because well...their drains.  On anything carrying water into the fish I waited 48 hours. Maybe excessive but I am on the BSTS train....Better Safe Than Sorry.

Now if it was for drinking water for my mother in Law...that's a whole different story!🙄
