  1. The python is worth every penny. I use one and have to use a 50 ft hose on it but I would not full a 75 gallon without it. I probably don’t water change enough as it is and if I had to use a bucket or even a trash can, it would never get done.
  2. You can put a pair of angelfish in a 20 tall if they are the only thing in there. One angelfish should be ok in a 20 tall
  3. It has an under gravel filter with two outlets so I think the oxygenation is oK. This is really helpful. The paracleanse course is done today and I am going to do a water change and add some salt and ich x. She seems to be acting ok. So I’ll try Ich x and salt this week and then if things aren’t cleared up I’ll try the kanaplex
  4. Looking for some insight. What is this? I think she has had it for a minute, but earlier this week I found her hiding I. The back corner of the tank and I got really concerned. Found these growth like things on her. I treated with paracleanse. Currently on day 4 of a paracleanse treatment and she is much happier, swimming around and eating. She still has a could have these growths on her and I’m concerned my paracleanse treatment didn’t fully kick the issue. Does anyone know what this is? Should I repeat my paracleanse treatment, switch over to kanaplex, or try prazi pro? Thanks I’m advance.
  5. I find with my livebearers that it is really hard to reverse swim bladder issues. One thing I do for prevention, something so have learned, is livebearers really need some veggies in their diet. Most of my issues have come when I am only feeding BBS or higher protein foods to encourage growth. A good algae wafer and spirulina flake daily help them be their happiest.
  6. Hey. This is very concerning. I had some fish in my tubs and they were doing fine. This weekend my pond plants finally arrived. I potted them in dyna dirt and hung them in the pond. I put some bricks from my basement (not the cleanest place in the world) in them to prop up a couple pots. I then added the rest of my rice fish to one tub and white clouds to another. I have found several floating in the tubs in the past day. Tested the water and this is what I got. What could have cause this and what should I do?
  7. Sure, overnight has more wiggle room for things to go wrong and the fish be ok. Honestly, Indont know how people ship overnight for $35. If I could do that, it is all I would do but when I have tried overnight with USPS, the cost is about $65 for me (I suppose if I was shipping a couple small fish I could get it as low at $56) as opposed to $17 for a medium flat rate box. That’s a big difference
  8. IMO, shipping fish, overnight shipping doesn’t have significantly better survival rates than priority. It is just an additional expense. If a fish is packed well, it will last 2 days or 3-4 days. If it is not, it won’t make it to the destination intact. I have done a lot of learning shipping fish out and the most important factors are: 1. Insulate the box (obviously) 2. Be careful about the amount of fish you put in each bag. I try to do 3 small fish maximum in a bag. 1 medium fish. If you stick too many in a bag, they will not survive no matter how long they are in transit. This is the major limiter with overnight shipping. It is based on weight and more bags equals more cost. So overnight is fine if you are shipping one-3 small fish, but after that it is very cost prohibitive. 3. Heat pack for cold temperatures Following these, fish generally ship pretty well
  9. More than enough filtration. You could run the 90 on 2 sponge filters and be fine
  10. I really love ancistrus Plecos right now. Also getting in to particularly stunningly colored platted. I have a dream of doing a full planted tank full of a rainbow of platies. Hundreds of them.
  11. They can get that way. I do t have any tips. If you really want to get all of them pull all of the decor out of the tank to catch them.
  12. I am having a similar issues. I have probably 8 long fin white clouds in a breeding setup with a false bottom, it’s about 2/3 choked with guppy grass and I still haven’t gotten fry. I’ve had them set under in this tank for probably 4 or 5 months. I see a ton of flaring. Maybe I have too many?
  13. Brine shrimp eggs no doubt. Can’t get them anywhere else. By far the highest quality out there
  14. Wow. If you get a spawn off of them I would love a group of fry!
  15. What kind of angels are those? They are gorgeous!
  16. Hello fish fam, I was wondering if anyone has any tips out there for getting your angels to pair off. I have 2 groups of angels in 20s. They are pretty clearly at breeding age and Inhave been waiting for them to pair off, but they just kind of hang out in a group. Anyone have tricks for getting them to pair off so I can whittle them down to a pair and get them spawning?
  17. Neither of these tanks sound like a place where a GBR will thrive. I would not put them together in a 20 gallon tank. I may do a 40 breeder and try it with the betta. I would be hesitant to put me with the rambunctious tiger barbs as well
  18. I would pay a pretty penny for a group of 6 of those on aquabid. LMK if and when you are posting.
  19. Thanks for your feedback. Do I need to soften the water for them is my question? If so I will do that? But if not I will leave it as a last resort
  20. Good morning fam, I have had terrible luck with apistos. I first had a pair of Apistogramma Borellii. They did ok, but I could never get them to spawn. They eventually died when my auto water change system went haywire and killed a big portion of my fish room. I then got a pair of Apistogramma caucatoides orange flash. Within a month, I could no longer find the female, she just vanished. Then I moved the male to one of my community tanks out of my 10 gallon breeder. He died a few days after the transition. I do not know what happened to him. I suspect it was a compatibililty issue. Now I have very hard water approx 150 Gh, Kh is about 40. My Ph is around neutral at 7.0. I now have purchased a trio of apistogramma hongsloi red. I did not put them in the same 10 gallon I had the other 2 pairs of apistos. gave this trio a planted 20 gallon long with only some endlers as dithers. So far they are doing well, but I want to breed them and be successful. Do I need to do RO water for apistos? Everything I have read is they are easy to breed usually. I have had crummy luck. Never had a spawn. I don't want to do RO water if I can avoid it. Has anyone else had luck breeding apisto hongsloi in hard water or do I need to bite the bullet and add the additional work of the RO for myself? Advice appreciated.
  21. I would do an angel. My angels eat everything, including guppy fry
  22. I’ll let you know how it goes!
  23. You can see the repashy in the top left. All my fish love it. I like to mix community with spawn and grow
  24. If it where me, I would do huge schools. A big school of cardinal tetras, a big school of orange Venezuelan Corydoras, maybe a big school of silver tip or lemon tetras. Then I would add whatever your favorite color of platys are or you can even get a skittles mix of platy colors
  25. How often do you water change? With 50 fish In a 10 gallon, that’s a lot of waste. That is Why you are noticing detritus worms
