  1. might be absolutely nothing wrong, sometimes new fish just dont make it.
  2. they will be just fine on that gravel. welcome aboard!
  3. you want to know the secret of making superglue set fast?.... get it wet. thats right, water will speed the cure time up to almost instant.
  4. "that boy, i say that boy aint right!"😜
  5. being used, id have them fill to show you it holds water.
  6. idk, if not near 7ph, id opt for one of the other choices, even a blob of pure silicone sealant would hold wood to slate.
  7. years ago, the first nerites i had escaped. other than the first couple ive not had any houdini's, but those first ones were bound and determined to commit suicide.
  8. i think the stainless or nylon screws are a great idea, but to be perfectly honest, i just use drywall screws, and ive had some in a tank for 10+ years before taking out and breaking it down, and the screws looked like new, no rust etc. if your tank strays far from 7ph, it may become more important.
  9. if they all get along, dont mess with it.
  10. the "co2 booster" is an algaecide. you arent doing the plants any favor by using it daily. the leaf zone while an excellent product is pretty much just chelated iron. quit using the co2 booster, and pick up an all in 1 fertilizer. java ferns typically dont take much, but the co2 booster(carbon) is doing way more harm than good in constant dosing.
  11. you need one of them ultra fancy co-op specimen containers. not just a pitch, i have 1 and it is nice. if you still want guppies, but not tons of little guppies, buy males only. then you get the pretty fish with no babies.
  12. thats the trap, they all start out cute, like babies then they grow up and arent always as cute. here's my dumpster dog from above as a pup.
  13. over the years, i have given away thousands of guppies. they are the gift that keeps on giving. having mixed species tank with some slightly larger fish to help eat fry is about the only way ive found to keep the numbers in check. maybe try to feed the tanks slightly less to make the adults hungry and incentivize them to predate the fry a bit more.
  14. guppies are resilient little buggers who could teach mice a thing or two about breeding. some adult guppies are baby eaters, but usually only when you dont want them to. a few larger fish help to keep them in check, but typically the population will still grow, just not as fast.
  15. my favorites are just about any color dragon guppies. red, and blue being the best imo.
  16. tank looks good, and not to worry. most people go through a learning curve when they start out, and lose fish. its part of the adventure.
  17. fritzyme7, and fluval cycle have done well for me.
  18. id rinse it and rub the spots with my fingers. then keep an eye on it.
  19. 6 months or so if you start with a pair, 3 months with a trio.😲
