  1. Update: 5 days in with 2 male Gourami. They both seem active and are assimilating well- so far😎 Seems to be plenty of space and enough other fish. Even when they do run across each other, there is little interaction.
  2. I have 4 Cory and a Bristlenose Pleco in My 60. Thinking I may eventually add a couple more cory. But I have been busy lately with rounding out some of the other schools
  3. I hear you, my friend.. I have had some platy and danio glofish that were the same way. I took one danio back and saw it a couple of days later just swimming around happy-go-lucky... LOL... but he was a demon in my tank... 🤣
  4. Judgement-Free zone here on my part bro... LOL I'm only one year in the hobby, so I'm not judging anybody... 😀 I would say the 10 is definitely too small for a second dwarf. I think my footprint might be big enough on my 60, but I am not sure that I have enough cover for a 2nd Gourami.. The female idea might be the trick to do 2 though.. I'm still chewing on it..
  5. I agree for sure on not getting 3. Everything I see says that is a bad idea👍
  6. Thank you for the input. I have tried suggesting the Honeys to the wife, but she really likes the Powder Blue.. LOL.. I may just have to go with the 1 dwarf..
  7. Thanks for the input. I have heard that this would be a possibility. If I do go with one, I would only do it on a day where I would be available to keep my eye on the interactions withe other fishies..
  8. That is what I am hearing the most.(and leaning towards) One to make it pop.. I hadn't even considered a second one until someone else suggested it. Thanks!
  9. I put an Aquarium Co-Op gift card on my list. Hopefully the family will come through!! 🤓
  10. Thinking of adding a Dwarf Gourami(or two) to my 60 gal as centerpiece fish. Haven't pulled the trigger yet because I am hearing so many different opinions. Any more opinions you all would like to throw in to my research? 😀 Current stocking: 6 zebra danio(mix of glofish and a zebra); 8 tetra(white skirt, black skirt, glofish, and a Serpae); 7 Platy(mix of wags, mickey mouse, and 3 of my new faves - Green Lanterns). On the bottom we have 2 emerald and 2 albino corys and a Bristlenose Pleco. Someone suggested 3 Dwarf Gourami, but I feel 2 would be the max - and I am not even sure about a second one. What y'all think? Is my 60 big enough for 2? I am looking at a Powder Blue(for sure) and maybe another color for the second one(Flame or Neon). Thanks for any input and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
  11. Thank you.. I had to add that submersible blue light to make the wife happy. Because it's a 24" deep tank, her glofish weren't "glowing enough" with the rim lights. Wife is happy now.. Happy wife - happy life.. 😀. Added timers to rim lights and the submersible. I also have a couple of 24" top lights, but only use them to add for feeding, or some extra blue light in the evening.
  12. Thank you, Hobbit! We are over toward Dayton, but we do run over to Columbus to catch a few OSU Hockey games each season.
  13. Howdy fellow fishkeepers. I got started about a year ago when the wife let the granddaughter pick out 2 fish and a small cube tank at our local Meijer. Well-- then😬 I had to figure out how to keep them alive. After a few mistakes, I finally found some great online content - especially Cory and Aquarium Co-Op. Now 1 year later we are up to a 60 gal and loving it(Wife included - LOL) As you can tell, we have a clash in decor(some glo items for the wife; and some more natural-ish decor for me), but we enjoy working on it together and the Granddaughter loves all the fish and helping to feed and clean. We currently have 7 Platy, 5 Danio(glo), 7 Tetra(5 glo, 1 White Skirt, and a Serpae), 4 Corys(2 Emerald, 2 Albino), and a Bristlenose Pleco. Possible adds in the future include a group of Cherry Barbs and maybe a Dwarf Gourami. I'd also like some Neon or Cardinal Tetras, but not sure how they'd assimilate with the Gourami. Ohio Pappy Ron
  14. Thank you for your service! God Bless.. The tanks look great!
  15. My wife and had always bought a goldfish or two for the my son and other kids she babysat, and again when our niece and nephew were smaller and around a lot. Eventually the fun would wear off and my wife would get tired of the hassle. i wasn't interested much at the time because I traveled often. Last September it all changed when we let the 3 yr old granddaughter pick a couple of fish out at our local Meijer store. Next thing I know - I find out they are tropical and need a heater and filter. One year later I've gone from that little 1/4 gallon cube to my recent upgrade - a 60 gallon setup.. 😀 And now, Pappy and granddaughter are hooked- Big Time...
