Fonske
I was about to ask for the ID of these guys, but I think I've found the answer myself. It's Rasbora borapetensis/ Red-tailed Rasbora/Brilliant Rasbora, right? Very tight schoolers, will follow your finger like silvertip tetras, about 1.5" long. 1

Yep they look like the brilliant/red-tailed rasboras to me.
Fonske
Can someone help with ID of this fish? In the store it was referred to as "doughnut ji" (a type of carp in Chinese). It's about 2" long, its back and fins are orange, a bit brighter in real life than in the photo.

It is a snakeskin barb, or Desmopuntius rhomboocellatus. 1

Nancy K
Can someone help me ID this young fish? It was sold to me in a group with harlequin rasboras (six total all the same size) and in the bag it looked a little different but they told me it was for sure a harlequin rasbora. A month later and the others have grown much faster and this lil guy doesn’t really swim with them much. I don’t see him being bullied but if it isn’t a rasbora what is it? HenryC
Fascinating how fish won't school with others, even if they're nearly identical, for example neons and cardinals. I've always wondered what are the mechanisms they use to differentiate themselves from other species. It has to be with pattern recognition for sure.
