WhitecloudDynasty
I posted it on the Facebook group already but though I should share it here also Did you know most fish will eat duck weed if you set it up properly for them? I blend up my duckweek real fine with some water and a few drop of Vita Chem. It's best to feed immediately or it will go sour. It's a great source of fiber, protein, all natural, almost unlimited source of food. My white cloud, rosy barb and rainbow shiner love it 12 2
ScottieB
I love this! My Koi can only eat so much, I might try this. Thanks for the tip!
ccc24
I may fry this. I wonder if one could mix it into some Repashy for the plecos…
Biotope Biologist
You can also drink it! Duckweed is quite the valuable little plant. Many peoples around the world eat duckweed! Although maybe don’t drink duckweed from an aquarium that just has health risk all over it! 1 3

Lennie
My chicken love them too much to feed them to fish or snails 😄 Weekly water changes is chickens' duckweed day in our home! 😄 Doesn't it foul the water after some time btw? Seems like the particles are so small and it would be really hard to clean uneaten food. Would making a home-made gel food or snello be a better idea to hold them together? What do you think?

mynameisnobody
I read an article about duckweed being the ultimate plant because it is grown in space and also eaten by the astronauts! It’s an interesting read. @WhitecloudDynasty brilliant! You never disappoint. 2
Minanora
I put my duckweed in my compost. It's one of the most potent "hot" adds I ever put in my compost. The brown to green ratio with duckweed is like, 500 brown to 1 part duckweed. 😛 I also leave duckweed in cups on accident and then find them by smell afterwards. It's unpleasant to the highest degree. I will totally try blending some duckweed and vita chem though. Always happy to reuse good nutrients. Though my green beans LOVE duckweed compost tea, so do my spring peas, and my corn. 😄 Eventually I'll have chickens, hatching eggs this year!

Duckweek is a very good plant matter decently high in protein, and omega 3 fatty acids...great for fish and other animals even us humans. It's known as "eggs of water" in Thailand. Our mind keep thinking it's more of a pest plant but it's ready not. 3

I can imagine everything sticking to mosses (hair algae winking) and floating plant roots in my tanks, all over the place. It is good that you have a way to use it as well! nice to keep in mind. Maybe I can add some to my snello one day

I dont have fish that feed from top to mid column 😄 I like bottom dwellers more. That's why making a gel food sounds like a good option to me! Does it all sink to the bottom or move around constantly?

Guppysnail
I add mine to repashy or just let it dry out and feed it like flake food. Sadly most of my kids learned to eat it when I’m trying to grow it so I’m always short in duckweed supply. 🤪

FLFishChik
I’ve seen YouTube videos of people drying it out , crushing it and feeding it that way. I imagine you could add it to Snello, Repashy and the like.
