You two really do swap a lot of stuff! Didn’t you send her some of your last batch of mysteries?

A large part of the joy of my hobby comes from sharing with friends. It’s how we did it when I was a kid. Whoever had what swapped so everyone could enjoy the fun.

Unfortunate news. Sadly, Dodger has passed... He was adopted from the big box store where he was relentlessly bullied by fish who wouldn’t let him come out of his shell. I had adopted him on July 17. Parameters are ok. 0/0/30.

I believe he had a nice time during his stay with me. Here’s a little look back.

Very unfortunate, my condolences.  Do you have any offspring from dodger?

Here’s the shrimp. Light fanning. At this point I’m not confident that means anything. ☹️

I can't be certain....

If she does have eggs, I think she just released them. Either that or she will very soon.

If she doesn't have eggs, I think she will be berried very soon.

I am leaning towards not seeing eggs and she will have some soon. Either way, it's a good sign! 🙂

@Chick-In-Of-TheSea so sorry to hear of Dodger  you gave him/ her a wonderful home with love ❤️

i lost one of my  original snails last week he had a crack shell and it was healing but he cracked it again i had him in quarantine he lived 1-2 weeks   but his body was exposed i was surprised he lived that long his mate is missing him though I  hope he pulls through  only have him and Goldie left of my 3 original snails ,,

I need to stat finding a free home for my baby shrimp they  are starting to get a little bit bigger ,,,   if I can not find a home my LFS said they  will take them    i really enjoying the babies and taking care of them

i might post a post on the trade/sell forum   would not want to sell  them  only thing i might want is for shipping

Taking care of the baby shrimp and cories is now making me  debate to try to hatch a snail clutch next  in my quarantine tank to see if i could do it  I  would love to try to hatch one clutch of  magenta snail eggs if i can find good homes for them  there would be no way for me to keep them I can only have 3 tanks  I had to get rid of a old stereo to put my 10 gallon together

You could totally do it.

What kind of shrimp do you have?

After my baby snails got big enough, I posted on the Nextdoor app, and local hobbyists contacted me wanting snails.  I did charge $1 each because I didn't want people just getting a bunch of free little snails to feed to their pufferfish or whatever. I wanted them to be loved as pets, as I loved them when I was raising them up. I think feeder snails are sold at the store for 25 cents each so I didn't think people would pay $1/snail if it was food for other fish. And I know that mystery snails go for like $3.99 or $4.99 at the stores so it was a deal for people that wanted them as pets. I also gave out care sheets with the snails and made sure that the hobbyists had cycled tanks to put the snails in.

You could extend the time you have the snails by setting up a plastic tote as an extra tank. Just an idea in case people are slow to adopt them.

@Chick-In-Of-TheSea i agree with you i want  anything i have to go to good homes and not be used for food ,, still debating on the hatch of snails since there is lots in one hatching ,is what makes me hesitate to hatch one  and because i have limited tanks my house is very small ,,i do have a 30gallon rubbermaid tote in outside storage in case my 55 gallon leaks

when i started out in fish keeping my fish guy said to have a emergency tote  because usually a tank will leak when stores are closed and i live 1-2 hours away from LFS  i order my fish supplies mostly online unless i am going to the LFS and  i travel 25-30 miles to the local Wally  Mart  my town has one small grocery and a dollar store that is it

Berried? If that's the same one she likes that spot. 🙂

I see swimerette things happening, might be the plant in the background and that's your male, very hard to tell but ghostly cool photo. 🙂 Screenshot_20221221-101441.png.1c6c4df09bd1f21fa1a4b12734e102e6.png

On the right, I see some green eggs? Screenshot_20221221-101453.png.f7c6ac8b2cda183dca5f17c51226de5e.png

Definitely, she returns to that water sprite again and again.

The male is the one hiding in the shadows.

I think what you're seeing is a space under her tail and the co op sponge filter tube.  🙂

They are not shrimp eggs. If they have a jelly sac around them it is snail eggs. Here is what it looks like when a shrimp accidentally drops eggs. Occasionally they drop eggs other times but they do not stick to things. You can see them rolling across the leaf in my video

I love that video. 😂

Eventually there will be tiny shrimps. I have faith!
