Brandon p
I want to have some more taller plants in this tank (75 gallon). Temps are normals 83-84 degrees. There is a lot of Amazon sword and some red flame sword, some jungle Val that is just starting to grow after 6 months.one Anubis and some land moss one the right and left, also frogbit. I would like to some tall flowing plants along the back. I am likely removing one of the sponge filters and going back to one sponge and the canister. I have more than enough light. I’m getting better. With plants but not super great. Here are a few more pictures sorry I just feed the bottom feeders so the the water is not very clear. KBOzzie59
Tiger Lotus Here is one in a 20 long, also have one in a 55 and it has reached the top. Dwarf Aquarium Lilly, similar in size to the Tiger Lotus. Crypt Spiralis, similar to Vallisneria, has easily reached to top in my 60 gallon.
Gator
@Brandon p; Your tank looks fantastic, I like the Cypress knee and Cholla wood, it would be nice if I could get a Cypress knee up here, but... If you want tall plants, there are two that I highly recommend as they are both beautiful and are great oxygenators. The most beautiful of the two is Hygrophila difformis and the other is its cousin Hygrophila polysperma, I have both.

I will have to check those out I have 2 knees that are almost ready one is in my sons tank ones in the snail tank and one I posted last week when they where talking about hanging the roots that why it’s hanging. I hard to get knees here because it’s illegal so these have been soaking for almost a year. The cholla was hidden but the clowns keep moving the substrate Edited December 2, 2021 by Brandon p

Dwayne Brown
Pogostemon Octopus would work great, they grow super fast and have a really pretty color green and purplish color. The only con to them is that they grow so quick that they need to be pruned every other week.

The clippings then make new plants. So you only need a few and you can then populate the entire wall from one. Brandon p
@GuppysnailI have had and do have a few pennywort in the tank but I can never get it rooted well enough to keep it growing really well. As soon as it looks great and I’m starting to prune and grow the cutting in a second tank, the clown loaches dig them up. I’m going to add some more substrate to the back to help give the the plants to root deeper and with a wide root base. The small jungle val that is in there is about 6 mother’s old and it is just starting to grow above the substrate but the roots still grew and hold well. I don’t plant mine I suction cup them to the wall 🤣🤣🤣. Tiny roots grow from each node for me.

Tiny roots grow from each node for me. That’s a good idea. Mine will grow nice like that and some will lean against the cypress piece in the tank and start to root into that. But they get torn up. I’ll move them to my ghost shrimp/neon tank. That was an accident and I thought that the neons would eat the baby shrimp the the numbers still grow. But anyway the pennywort recovers nice I the shrimp tank. I move it back and it grows to the top or closer and formed up again
gardenman
If your jungle val is starting to grow, it'll take over and give you what you want. Once it starts to grow, which can take a while, it'll grow like mad. Mine grows about an inch a day right now and has about ten baby plants it's spawned off the parent plant.
Brandon p
There are only 3 jungle Val. Now that it is doing much better it does grow faster. I want to cover about 3/5 of a 75 gallon. So i would want to add some more just so things can fill in a little faster. It’s going to be a Val I’m ordering some tomorrow. Minanora
I'm a fan of Myrio. For green, Myriophyllum Pinnatum, for a lighter green/reddish, Myriophyllum Roraima (seen in the background of my 75. Pretty fast growing, cuttings grow super fast. Some fish love to snack on it. My guppy babies and Swordtails eat the lower leaves, but when they go bare, it's about when they hit the surface, and I just cut them and replant the tops to hide the bare stems while they regrow. I also have a few cuttings of Pogostemon Stetellus Octopus in the middle, which is now reaching over into the front of my 75G from the back wall. And that has grown in very quickly. Then if you want something thin and that will let a lot of light through, red/maroon in color; Ludwigia Arcuata. Seen in the far left of my 75G. Then, of course, there's my favorite, Nymphoides hydrophylla, which can be seen on each side of my pogostemon bunch in the middle back wall of my tank. Minanora
First photo highlights the Myrio. Second photo highlights the Ludawiga. Third photo the ltawain lily Nymphoides hydrophylla on the sides of the fast growing pogostemon. Fourth photo more of the myrio and some green hornwort that I can't decide if I like or not. Fifth photo shows how the pogostemon is flowing over the top to the front. Sixth photo shows the scale of the plants compared to the 75G volume, same with the 7th. anewbie
If you want a flowering plant PSO (Pogostemon Stellatus Octopus) will produce a very nice purple flower once it gets above the water level. It can also be trained ot be very branchy via pruning and unlike a lot of stem plants is quite robust and low maint (I find after a while - 6 months to a year ludwigia lower stems will sometime rot and have to be replanted). Myrio is nice but i've never seen it flower; also it grows a bit too fast in my tank - still the frys love hiding in it so there is that plus.
