Native fish by one new species this week… The Chrosomus erythrogaster, better known as the Southern Redbelly Dace, should arrive in a couple days in a batch of 12x or so. Here’s a fantastic German aquarist video. They appear to spawn much like the Rainbow Shiners I’ve been keeping. My aquarium will be a 20 gallon long. If they appear too crowded, I can split the batch between another 20 gallon tall. They’ll share the space with Darters. 9 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm pretty sure they're breeding colors, yes. But I've heard that certain of the "red belly dace" keeps colors better than others outside of spawning. We'll see!
