  1. Hi all My husband, Rick, passed away unexpectedly last week. He loved this community and shopped the CoOp pretty frequently. He had a 75 gallon tank with a big filter. I don't know anything about how to manage the tank. He did tell me how to feed them, but that's all I know. I was wondering if anyone would be up for giving my father in law and I some instruction so we can keep this tank going... I'll attach pics of the tank and filter. He has 2 blood parrots, danios, glow tetras, gourami, snails, and I'm sure I'm missing a couple things. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Couldn't believe when I took my dog to pick out her bday toys at a national chain pet store fx4s were on sale for 199.99 and fx6s for 249.99 plus an extra $25 off so I picked one up. My first question is, is there any threat if the power goes out of this flooding at all? Second question is why is there a flow valve on the return for the intake I would think there would only be one for the output. Last question is there was a oring tying the hose around the cannister is this a replacement oring or just for shipping? So far I am very impressed with it. It replaced a 10 year old HOB that was on its last leg that I had to pray started back up after every water change but definetly not perfect can't wait to see how I like it in the long run.
  3. Would love to see any pics of your setup if you modified the intake piece of an FX4 canister filter to keep fry, shrimp, and bad thoughts out of your filter. Found a few videos of folks wrapping the entire outside of the intake with a media bag and zip-tying it down, but I’ll likely be looking for another more ‘elegant’ solution. Maybe. Thanks!
  4. Hello everyone! I just unboxed an FX4. There was a gasket hanging out on top ov everything inside the canister. I can't seem to figure out where this goes. There is already a gasket around the lid. I have watched a couple dozen YouTube videos and read the instructions but I can't find an answer to my specific question. Any help is appreciated!
  5. I was wondering if anyone has a Fluval FX4? If so how tall is it from base to highest point with tubing connected? Reason I am asking is my filter died and was going to get an FX4, but cabinet portion is only 18in. tall. Trying to figure out if I could squeeze it in there. Thanks for the help/info!
  6. Is anyone familiar with the Oase BioMaster 600? How does it stack up against the Fluval FX4?
  7. I've seen suggestions of putting a spray bar in or placing an intake sponge filter over the outputs on an fx4. What do you guys think of placing a piece of sponge or coarse filter pad inside of the output nozzle to reduce the flow?
  8. Which aquarium co op intake sponge fits snug on the fx4 intake down tube? The large with a 1 1/4 inch hole seems way too big and the medium with a half inch hole seems about right but it's a pretty small sponge size. Thoughts??
  9. Is two fx4s on a 125 with 3 of the 4 nozzles pointed at the surface too much flow/current for mollies, endlers, corydoras, dwarf gourami?
