I got 7 ranchu goldfish just started quarantine. Seems like be a sticky on these forums. Anyways going salt for 7 days 1 tablespoon per gallon. Then I’ll follow prazipro and metronidazole this is same as paracleanse for parasites. The fish store told me to use pimafix and melafix together can I do this with salt treatment or internal parasite treatment? Or should I just return this? Is there anything else I can added to this quarantine?

Also can anyone respond I have prazipro already and someone recommended paracleanse is wayyy more expensive. The only difference I see is ingredients metronidazole and I just ordered this. looks like way cheaper use prazipro and metronidazole on my 75 gallon tank. Paracleanse I need 100 pack 75$ and other prazipro and metronidazole 25$. Since I didn’t quartine and put in my new tank I guess I need treat everything lesson learned.

Question about how lazy I can be can I just add prime everyday to control ammonia and nitrate nitrate. I don’t want try figure how much water I moved to for salt and chemicals!

Ok added them to a small 15 I watched corys salt video to so added 8 tablespoons aquarium salt. I’ll add more few days if they don’t get better. the store told me if any where sick they would permafix and melafix also with salt? Did they do that just to sell me the stuff? ill paracleanse them and my 75 gallon ounce threw with this since says safe invertebrates plants and biological system. Way you typed it Cory I salt treat then when finished paracleanse? i guess ok throw some wood in tank give fish hiding spot!

Just brought 7 ranchu pet store the day they received them. Have 3 problems with them atm. I haven’t kept fish in 6 years due to lots babies so I’m learning again. I have prob half cup crushed coral in one canister for calcium. 9volt uv running when my lights are on. Also have plant light off Amazon 80$ and 2 bright leds meant grow weed so awesome for plants. tank 7 ranchu, 15 see threw shrimp? 50 cent each, 20 pest snails and 2 Siamese algae eaters. 1. 3 ranchu have a red gills on one side I attach picture.(I’m guessing ammonia burn to bet store) 2. idk when I do a water change I have extreme pearling on plants. I have water parameters below before and after water change. 3. I have one ranch looks fine either he sits on bottom or hovers at top 2 inches below water. White stringy poop not aggressive eating like others.(if I had guess I’d say bloated give peas?) I have 75 gallon about 3-5 inch eco black substrate. I have ozmacote at bottom of it. I have about 30 plants idk what they are came with aquarium. This setup is about month old I seeded it and it have 2, 100 gallon marineland canisters with 3 trays bio media and 1 tray corse sponge each. also I have yeast co2 change every Friday. And no oxygen bubblers on tank I’ve never used them fish never show sign that need oxygen. I have a lot water movement. Atm all I have feed hakari sinking wafers l, xtreme aquatic flake and green beans. I ordered hikari fancy gold pellets. Feeding twice a day what can eat 3 mins flakes wafers atm going give peas Tomorrow. this mournings water pH 8.0 Nitrates 30 Hardness 300 Nitrite .5 Ammonia 0 KH/Buffer 200 Water Temperature 73 70% water change hour ago pH 7.8 Nitrates 10 Hardness 75 Nitrite 0 Ammonia 0 KH/Buffer 150 Water Temperature 75

That is true they have like 1 expert at each store but idk there always not there when I am. I usually have them asking me questions I’ve been keeping fish 30 years I’ve learned a little. Im just new to planted aquarium I’ve always preferred coral reefs. But atm can’t do it because $.

algae is a big problem I had add 50 snails 30 shrimps some crabs and UV and it cleared up in a day. Not sure what did it but shrimp ate the heck out of it. But I’ll take pictures every week and send update in month.

lol well Petco people have no clue they will sell you whatever. I talked to dude today said worker recommended he use flourish when he adds water. And he didn’t tell guy to use something like prime. I’d kill have local pet store but closes one is 2 hours away in big city. The only deal Ghosh salt and fresh.

Doesn’t matter if you think they did it return but regardless go get money back. Bring water sample I just use bottle water there looking for reason not refund don’t give them one. I brought 6 glow tetras and 1 died my water lvls perfect but just give them 0 reason. Simple test kit will tell you if your the murder you should have one.

Sweet thx 75 drops in 75 gallon raised it to 2ppm. So I’ll try maintain 1ppm see how fast other lvls climb. What danger zone for nitrites test kit says 5-10ppm?

So I’m pretty sure this tank is cycled what’s safe amount ammonia add to tank 1ppm? I have dr Tim’s ammonia chloride solution it says 2ppm but do not exceed 5 ppm fishless cycle. but I have plants so is 1ppm safe on a planted 75gallon?

Also I don’t need aerator when these light own there’s so much pearling I can see oxygen rising everywhere. My goal is to grow these plants fast as hell get them where I want them then add cheap 90$ lights Amazon. Slow growing less nutrients would be good if tank was grown out already.

I would have gotten the aquarium coop fertilizer but I just spent like 150$ there and can’t just order it 1 thing free shipping requires 59$. He should really put it on Amazon it would blow up. But eventually I’ll switch to it guy on youtube seems cool and I’d rather support private business owner. Amazon is the devil!! But so cheap I’ll have flourish at my front door tomorrow!

I would be worried if you have kids around I never had a glass tank above 300 gallons. And I’ve never seen tank flex I would just get thinker glass. I’ve had several 200-300 that did not flex any.

(hygger Full Spectrum Aquarium Light) and I get maybe 10 pearls each plant very minor. About 15 inches from light. These lights look nice I’ll attack picture minor pearling. I have some leds meant grow weed. They have alot red to cause blooming. When I use these lights on aquarium plants 100% covered in pearls. And they seem grow like crazy. The lights kinda ugly not very pleasant to look at I don’t consider this a factor. Ignore quality plant I just got it today it will repair itself. So more pearls good or bad??

Just use seachem prime everyday it’s safe your tank will cycle so buy your fish doesn’t matter. 1 dose every 24 hours or your fish die. or wait if you like add some fish food or ammonia and complete your cycle. Most fish places give 30 day return so whatever. Just return ones die with some bottle water so samples perfect and get a new one.

Like 2 hours I just got the aquarium today here’s picture lady of the set up, in real dirt I’m using eco complete substrate. Here’s picture here set up major algae bloom she gave up.

I was thinking about flourish seachem is that better api. The lights very intense I can turn reds off there meant make weed bloom. Pictures not great i have 3 of these plant light full spectrum off Amazon like see on last picture. My plants barley have oxygen bubbles on them. But when add these 2 expensive plant led lights the plant get covered in oxygen bubbles. I’m new to planted aquariums but I’d thing more photosynthesis is better.

sorry about font I couldn’t fix it!! I brought this 75 gallon tank and it had these 30 plants. The women just gave up. I’m using Caribbean eco-complete planted substrate. Store only had 2 so I ordered 4 more. So if I need add ozmacote diy root tabs I can when i get more substrate. I have DIY c02 rolling on its good for 7-9 days I change it on Friday. So the lady had all these buried in substrate some kind of dirt. I have no ideal how to identify them if not supposed to be buried. Only fertilizer I’m using atm is leafzone api. And my leds or equal to the sun at 2 foot so good with lights. I guess I need feed tank ammonia since not going add fish for a few weeks until it’s stabilized. Any advice these dead looking plants? I dosed prime along time ago I think it safe I’ve had thousands fish over decades I’m 44, just not plants. I think me using co2 and fertilizer and stability is giving me extremely slow cycle. But that’s good that means I can just treat it like it’s cycled and do quick test everyday.

I’ve been out of aquarium hobby for about 5 years. I had several bare bottom tanks 200 gallon range so I understand cycling. I've never had planted aquarium so I’m trying one seems simple. but I can’t get my ammonia to raise I’m over feeding 6 glow tetras my son picked out and about 30 snails algae wafers he LOVES invertebrates. Aquariums 2-3 weeks old, I have ton of light on it atm 2 reef leds, 6500 Amazon light. I dose prime everyday since started regardless of ammonia nitrite nitrate I don’t want spike kill my sons fish and primes cheap and safe. I also have co2 drop a second yeast way seem best no regulator to fail change every 7 days cost 2 bucks. so all my levels basically 0 I haven’t changed water in 5ish days. Should I start raising ammonia with drops? And dose prime so stays safe? Idk kinda lost never had problem like this bare bottom tanks raunchus and pearlscals. Maybe all the plants I got I poured water and plant hoping add good bugs that’s risky I know. Only guess I have cycle started I missed it somehow. Some picture I spend about 100$ on plants from coop got all eles I needed I really like that guy on you tube. Not sure he’s name but I watch all he’s videos very practical guy. I also use stability everyday and 6 bags CaribSea Eco-Complete 20-Pound Planted Aquarium, Black that might have started my cycle it has bugs in it I think I just read it’s best and I like look.

Sweet I only have tetras atm because tank needs be older then it is about 3 weeks. I don’t understand why it’s not making ammonia nitrate nitrites. Maybe 6 tetras isn’t enough but idk I add prime to everyday. There’s about 10 plants in there atm. I’ll add blue shrimp let plants and shrimp multiply before I add some crabs. Thx for the feedback! Also kind of crabs doesn’t matter my son love that kinda stuff. Unless there’s a blue crab he just loves blue anything.

I’ve spent good amount time googling this. I have all starter plants I have 6 glow tetras what my son likes and tons snails that on plants. so I definitely want blue shrimp when tank gets more seasoned. So can I add few crabs? With this mix and anyone recommend active crabs? Crabs eat shrimp are snails? It’s 55 gallon

And the 2, 450watt grow lights will run 7ish hours a day I used them few years back hydro set up. The essentials equal sun at 2 feet away I was thinking if it’s to much I’ll put floating plants to diffuse some idk.
