  1. Hey y’all, I’ve just recently purchased some more shrimp and after about a week, 8 out of 20 shrimp have died and I just noticed some of the new clear shrimp have a couple of red spots on them. Not sure if it genetic or a disease. If anyone knows plz help a brotha out🤙🏼
  2. It’s a 3.7 gal. I use the light that came with the tank but I can’t really find any specific details on it
  3. The only shrimps I’ve lost was in the first month of the tank being set up and it was just 2. I keep a relatively close eye on them for parasites, or diseases and so far nothing. I feel like with how small the tank is, plus the good filtration system it has really makes a huge difference in overall wellness and stability as long as you maintain a regular filter change/cleaning
  4. I appreciate the kind help! It’s always nice to have a bit of guidance from different people in the hobby. I’ll give the video a watch👍🏼
  5. Thank you! I am going to change the tank out to RO water soon so I can mineralize it for the shrimp. I’m just a little worried about stressing them out when I get ready to put them back in the tank when I change the water. Or will they tolerate it if I match the tds, and hardness?
  6. I respect that decision to keeping it close and inside their circle instead of branching out but it would be cool to have one closer to me. I might just need to pack up some containers and air stones and head down to their store lol. Thanks for the info!
  7. Who else agrees that every state needs an Aquarium Co-op store? I know I sure do💯😁
  8. Thank you! I tried my hardest to make this tank something the shrimps would really love. I’m not too sure about exact dimensions but the tank is a 3.7 gallon imagitarium pro deluxe. I’d say just by looking at it rn, maybe close to a foot tall not including substrate. I use the light that comes with the tank that has 3 settings. Moonlight is the first, second the white light with a couple blue rgb’s lights. Then the third which is a more relaxed light for evenings.
  9. It’s almost been about 5 1/2 months since I have set my nano tank up and it’s been amazing. Although I’ve never really understood the calculating and all the scientific things that go on into a tank, I finally got a tds meter and shrimp minerals from saltyshrimp to start somewhere lol. I got the meter and shrimp minerals a few hours ago and I was shocked. I surely figured my tds was going to be over 300 since I’ve never tested it but check it out!😁 I haven’t even added the minerals nor do I use RO or distilled water. I do one water change a month of about 15% water. I don’t vacuum the substrate since shrimp are grazers and will eat just about anything. I add aquasafe to my tap water and stir the water for a few minutes and then let it sit for some hours. (Always test your water too) I dose my plants with 1 pump of Easy Green on one day of each week. Sometimes I may do 1 1/2 pumps depending on if I’ve trimmed plants. keep in mind, your tank could be different than mine so everything could be different. TDS / 173 Temp / 68-75
  10. Honestly, it could be a beaver. They are strictly vegetarian but will eat fish if need be. Says you guys have lots of them in Jersey but I wouldn’t doubt a raccoon. We’ve got plenty of them in AR lol.
  11. I’ve had that problem with some of those reddish, orange and pink plants. Some plants need a little bit more iron for them to really thrive and get that color. The lighting is also key to having that red pigment👍🏼
  12. So this is my jungle tank. (Was) my jungle tank. I housed a dwarf water lily that completely took over my tank with its spaghetti like root system. Turns out they aren’t that dwarf! lol. I’ve also takin out and trimmed up some plants to open the space up and it didn’t turn out too bad. I’m no aquascaper but I’m learning🤘🏼 oh and a third generation of shrimplets were born acouple weeks ago😁 feel free to ask me questions if you have any!
