  1. You can have your water level higher than that it won't effect your filter
  2. Levamisole the active ingredient in expel p praziquantel is the active ingredient in prazipro you can use paracleanse active ingredient is praziquantel and metronidazole
  3. You could add more water to your tank unless there's a reason the have water level low
  4. I would take you up on the offer of some Cory's but I live in the Uk good hear that they made a full recovery
  5. What I would do as she's going down hill rapidly is add some aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 5 gallons at that level it won't harm your plants and it will aid Gill function and add essential electrolytes and I add an extra air stone if she still alive tomorrow I think it would worthwhile doing @Odd Duck treatment protocol for parasitic infections with weight loss and lethargy
  6. Can you post a picture of the fish it will help with a diagnosis you say it's thin does it have a sunken belly have you notice any rapid breathing hanging out near the surface lethargy flashing spitting food out @Miranda Marie

Depending of type of fish your treating catfish or loach I wouldn't Go above 1 table spoon for 3 gallons for no more than 15 minutes for 5 days if your tetras or cichlids I would do 1 table spoon for 1 gallon for 15 minutes for 5 days @LizardleFemme
  8. Looks like an injury what I would do is quarantine and do a course of maracyn2 to prevent a secondary bacterial infections on the wound and a small amount of aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 5 gallons as long as it's still eating and active I wouldn't put it down @LoveMyPlatys

When you have pineconing one of the symptoms associated with dropsy that can because by a number of things organ failure causing fluid buildup internal bacterial infection parasitic infections the most effective treatment I have found is a course of metroplex in food feeding a small amount twice a day for upto 3 weeks dose the tank with kanaplex to treat any possible internal bacterial infection and add aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 2 gallons that will help reduce the fluid buildup and aid Gill function and add essential electrolytes add an extra air stone during treatment if you are going to treat I would quarantine as medication can be harsh to healthy fish so I would treat the sick on it's own even with the treatment I recommended there no guarantee it will recover @alcidmr
  10. I just saw video on the tropica YouTube page you live and learn
  11. Anubias sp smurf from tropica anyone have any of these the colour looks unusual
  12. Random deaths can be caused by a number of things with loss of appetite and being lethargic possible parasitic infection have any of the fish had a sunken belly or have any been spitting food out
  13. You mentioned whites spots did the fish that died have these whites spots any rapid breathing hanging out near the surface lethargy flashing erratic swimming loss of appetite in any of the fish that died how long have you had the fish before they died and did you quarantine them before adding them to the tank any other fish loss in last month @FishyGirl
  14. Goldfish can change colour as they grow it could be natural colour I have had goldfish have dramatic colour changes over the years or ammonia poisoning can causes blackening of the scales the high dose of aquarium salt will help with possible ammonia poisoning
  15. Clamp fins and hanging near the surface and rapid breathing can be caused by a number of things poor water quality parasitic infections what I would do is add aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 1 gallons for 2weeks and treat with praziquantel go from there @Lennie
  16. He's how you tell if it's ich or epistylis it's often wrongly identifed as ich if it's ich you want to gradually raise the temperature to 82 that will speed up the life cycle of the parasite and treat with a medication containing malachite green such as ick x and aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 4 gallons as ich causes massive electrolyte loss the salt will add back in essential electrolytes just remember to only put back in the amount of salt you take so if you do a 4 gallon water change add back in 1 table spoon of salt if it's epistylis you want to treat with a broad spectrum antibiotic treatment in food such as maracyn2 feeding a small amount twice a day for 7 days and aquarium as epistylis feeds off of the gram negative bacteria on the slime coat of your fish and spreads more quickly at higher temperatures just giving you some treatment options for more common disease that cause spots with out a better picture it's difficult to give correct diagnosis @IlhamSetiawan
  17. Can you try and get a better picture it's difficult to tell what's going on is the spot flat or raised is just one spot or multiple spots on your loach what are your water parameters ammonia nitrite nitrate pH etc @IlhamSetiawan
  18. What are your water parameters ammonia nitrite nitrate pH etc what tanks mates does he have as that could an injury due to fighting and what medication have you used
  19. Betta's are prone to bad heal due to inbreeding at least you did everything you could for him @nic
  20. Three weeks is the recommended treatment period for metroplex
  21. It's difficult to tell off your pictures if that HITH if it is most effective treatment is metronidazole in food so I would treat with metroplex in food feeding a small amount twice a day for upto 3 weeks I would also add some aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 2 gallons @dylaneff1
  22. Definitely need more of the heater submerged only black part is safe to have above the water line that could crack or fail if it won't fit upright put on an angle so it fully submerged
  23. Could be an injury or a growth if it's raised what I would do is add some Indian almond leaves as they have antibacterial and antifungal properties and a small amount of aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 10 gallons that will add essential electrolytes and aid Gill function and I would monitor for the next week if he gets worse before then give us an update @Zac
  24. With aquarium salt you only want to add back in what you take out so if you do a 3 gallon water change put 1 table spoon of salt back in as salt is only removed though water changes
  25. That doesn't look like it's egg bound possible dropsy that can be caused by a number of things organ failure causing fluid buildup internal bacterial infections or parasitic infection can cause bloating is there any pineconing of the scales it's difficult to tell of your picture what are your water parameters ammonia nitrite nitrate pH etc @BettaBabe94
