  1. Yes you would have to remove zeolite before treating @MidnightBel
  2. If your going treat with paracleanse follow the instructions on the box you would want to remove active carbon ammonia removing pads you want to have crushed coral in your tanks to keep your KH up if your keeping liverbears it will gradually desolve so you will need to add more in with ammonia in tap water I would set up a bin or tote with water and a small heater air stone add prime and seachems purigen or ammonia removing pads after a couple of your days ammonia levels will reduced then do your water change adding lots live plants and reducing water change will help bring down ammonia every time your doing a water change your adding ammonia back in @MidnightBel
  3. I don't think that's ich the adult ich leave the fish then the tomont usually attachs to the bottom of the tank with way there swimming possible Cyclops if above or on the surface could be spring tails @NOLANANO
  4. Yes UV light and a water change will be enough to remove any remaining medication it depends on the turn over of your filter as to how long it will take to remove any remaining medication just remember to turn it back off before adding more medication missing one day medication shouldn't set your fish back if they only have a few spots if they have lots of spots i wouldn't miss a days treatment I always account for at least 5 gallons for substrate hard scrap filter heater in larger tanks I would dose like it was a 70 gallon @NOLANANO
  5. Disorders of the Swim bladder cause abdominal swelling abnormal swimming behaviour loss of neutral buoyancy with fish either sinking to the bottom or floating to the surface that can be caused by the fish over eating and the stomach putting pressure on the swim bladder an injury to the swim bladder a bacterial infection of the swim bladder @suzanneisalive
  6. You can use Aquarium or rock salt or kosher salt are fine to use I would dissolve the salt in cup of warm water then add it to the tank just remember salts only removed though water changes so if you do a 2 gallon water change put one table @moosepig
  7. You can use paraguard it's not as effective as ick X it has less of the active ingredient malachite green and it doesn't have formaldehyde as long as you do a large water change and run active carbon to remove any remaining medication then I would such over to paraguard till you can get more ick X @NOLANANO
  8. A friend kept them and they had a nasty habit of biting out one of the eyes of weaker fish in the group
  9. Is there anything in the tank that could be injuring his top fin
  10. Your water will be fine with just sponge and bio media Do a water change 24hr after you have dosed expel p You could start feeding live brine shrimp daphnia start some of your own cultures of scuds and Grindal worms it would be difficult to get ever parasite out of live food @Lisa E
  11. I can see the white thing near he Gills possible anchor worm if it were anchor worms the most effective treatment is lufenuron active ingredient in Esha Alx I would add some aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 2 gallons it will aid Gill function and add essential electrolytes @moosepig
  12. Yes levamisole the the active ingredient in expel p so that what you want to treat with just remove any active carbon seachems purigen during treatment you can leave your sponge and bio media levamisole won't harm your benefial bacterial imagitarium herbal treatments aren't effective at treating internal or most types of external parasite's i wouldn't recommend it
  13. With white fins I would quarantine and treat with aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 2 gallons as you have live plants salt at that level will harm them if you can't quarantine I would do a course of kanaplex and add a small amount of aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 10 gallons the salt will aid Gill function and add essential electrolytes
  14. If you seeing pineconing I would treat with metroplex in food feeding a small amount twice a day for upto 3 weeks and dose the tank with maracyn2 to treat any possible internal bacterial infection causing the pineconing and add a small amount of aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 5 gallons that will reduce any possible fluid buildup @varun
  15. Your tiger barbs look very bloated that can be caused by a number of things such as a parasitic infection internal bacterial infection organ failure causing fluid buildup because you feed live food on a regular basis and you get odd random deaths with parasitic infections I would treat with levamisole once a week for 4 weeks do a 50% water change though gravel vac to remove As many parasite eggs from the substrate and dose expel p backout the tank for 24hr as the active ingredient in expel p levamisole is light sensitive do a water repeat on week 2 week 3 Week 4 @Lisa E
  16. What are your water parameters ammonia nitrite nitrate pH KH GH temperature any rapid breathing hanging out near the surface lethargy flashing spitting food out sunken belly white stringy poop
  17. What are your water parameters ammonia nitrite nitrate pH KH GH temperature any pineconing rapid breathing hanging out near the surface lethargy loss of appetite
  18. Do a 50% water change and run active carbon for 24hr to remove any remaining medication before you start treating with paracleanse
  19. Fish will eat bio film off of Indian almond leaves looking at the amount of white stringy poop and the fact it was happening before you stopped feeding I would do is treat with paracleanse once every 2 weeks for 3 full course of treatment so you want to treat on week 1 week 3 Week 5
  20. Colu

    Ich? Fish lice?

It could be a very small cyst or Dermocystidium in case were Dermocystidium have infected tetras it can manifest as a clear bubble or small cyst its difficult to say for with out taking a biopsy and looking under a microscope what i would do is quarantine and treat with aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 2 gallons for a week then give an update @Nicole
  21. The bent spine could be genetic deformity white stringy poop can be poop with no food in it just the mucus lining if you have noticed rapid breathing hanging out near the surface lethargy spitting food sunken belly then I would treat for parasitic infections
  22. Desolve the epsom salt in a cup of warm water then add it to the tank No don't add epsom salt every day add it on day one leave it for the 5 days I don't think your GH will go up by much on 5 days start to water change out the salt as salt only removed though water changes
  23. I would only treat the other tub if your seeing symptoms
  24. I would add an extra air stone and add a small amount of aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 10 that will aid Gill function and add essential electrolytes and monitor for a couple of days they might just be stressed and need some time to settle in
  25. If your water parameters are the same in both tubs I would add crushed coral to both of them it's possible your Guppies developed a secondary bacterial infections caused by the low KH GH and ammonia so I would add some aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 3 gallons and do a full course of maracyn that can harm your benefial bacterial lead higher ammonia so I would test daily for ammonia if you get higher reading do a 50% water change and add a double dose of prime to help detoxify any ammonia then add half a packet maracyn to keep the medication at a therapeutic level
