Hello! I am debating on getting a 20 long and was looking for any stocking ideas. Right now I am leaning towards 15 black neon tetras and 8 albino Corydoras. Is that too much for a 20 long? I’m open to any other suggestions. Thanks!

So I was given a 5 gallon tank and decided to do a shrimp only tank. I got the 10 pack of cherry shrimp from aqua Huna and they have reproduced like crazy. My only concern with the tank is that all of the shrimp in the tank will eventually be related (if they aren’t already). Does anyone know signs of inbred shrimp that I should expect to eventually pop up? Also, if inbreeding should be a main concern, how often should I introduce new shrimp to the tank? Thanks!

Can anyone tell me what this could be? I haven’t seen this on any of my other fish.

Thank you for the in depth reply. The flake I am currently using is TetraMin plus. I felt like I was shorting my fish bc of how cheap it was, but they love it! I’m going to keep feeding it but I recently bought xtreme krill flakes (which they also love) so I think I will keep both. Pair that with bug bites, and omega 1 veggie rounds and everyone is happy. I also feed blanched zucchini and frozen bloodworms/brine shrimp for a treat once a week.

I have a micro worm culture and I feed them instant potatoes. My smaller fish eat them but larger fish don’t.

I noticed that the instructions for using paracleanse on aquarium co-ops website are different from the packaging. The package is a 5 day treatment, co-op is a 5 week treatment. I’m a little confused on what I should do.

What is your opinion on the best flake, pellet, and wafer brand? Also, what is the best/easiest live food culture to keep?

Hello all, I have 3 questions. How many tiger barbs would be appropriate for a 75 gallon? Would a rainbow shark be a bad idea to keep with the tiger barbs? What would be a cool bottom dweller/clean up crew to keep in this tank?

Are there any vegetables that plecos cant eat? Right now the only vegetable I feed in addition to algae wagers and fallen fish food is zucchini. I want to start feeding them more variety. What is the best vegetable for them? And is there a list of things to avoid? Thanks!

I don’t think you can have too many plants! As long as there is a space for your gouramis to come up and take a breath of air. I’m not too worried about the shrimp getting eaten. I have a 5 gallon full of them I can easily replace, plus I have a large portion of Java moss they can hide in. I just added a lot of floating plants to my tanks as well. I really like the red root floaters.

No, however I did order the 20 dose from your website last night. I will probably do the whole tank since none of the fish in it have been dewormed. I have had that gourami for several months now. Is that common for these symptoms to just start now?

Hello everyone, I’ve been into fish keeping for about 1 year. I have 5 tanks. A 75 gallon community tank which holds 4 3-spot gouramis, 2 plecos, 1 rainbow shark, 1 betta fish, a bunch of guppies, and a few cherry shrimp I see every now and then. I also have a 10 gallon betta sorority, 10 gallon mansion for my first male betta, 5 gallon cherry shrimp breeder, and a 30 gallon aquaponics tote with my cull guppies living in there. I actually got into fish keeping by getting into aquaponics; I had no interest in fish until I started my first aquaponics system. I am into heavily planted tanks and creating low maintenance environments for my fish.

Hello all, over the past day or so one of my gold gouramis has been acting lethargic (spending most of his time laying on a lava rock which is abnormal for him). I was looking him over this evening and discovered what looked like some sort of a scratch or wound on the left side of his head right in front of his gills. I also noticed a small amount of translucent substance coming from his anus earlier in the day that wasn’t there this evening. Shortly after I noticed the abnormality on his head he started flashing for about a minute specifically rubbing the spot on his head. No other fish are exhibiting any of this behavior in the tank. Any help/suggestions are appreciated. 75 gallon planted tank about 10 months old. Ph 7.4, nitrates 20 ppm, temp 80F, gravel substrate with about 4lbs crushed coral. Ppm of tank water is 100.
