  1. Hob filter would be fine. Just remove cartridge. Or sponge, either way works. I would use maracyn2 or kanaplex for severe fin rot. Mouth looks a bit chewed up as well. Do a water change before adding meds. Then follow directions on package closely.. if you keep the hob in, put a new cartridge in when treatment is over. It will clear the meds. And not all lying on the bottom is bad. Yours look like it needs the meds. But I have an older one that’s just what he does. Rests
  2. More than wcmm but they’re small for corys
  3. Probably not the cartridge. That’s where a lot of the bacteria live. You could wash it out a couple more times before changing it. Just take it to the sink and clean it. The bacteria will be fine
  4. Yeah. They like to play at the bottom. But ca also play on bottom plant surfaces like plants
  5. At least you caught it before you had isues
  6. Yes. Water change again. Up to 50 %. Add prime after. Adding more bacteria won’t hurt. Even at 2 months old. I’ve used the test book from google before. Having misplaced the original
  7. Not quite what you were after, but good info
  8. If you keep your eyes open, marketplace can have some steals. Usually not, but sometimes. The other way is big box store sales. ok, good for the space, now comes the business plan. And theoretically, you could do tank maintenance on the side. But you’d need insurance for that. Well, you’d need insurance anyway, but you’d need liability insurance for hiring out maintenance.
  9. Yeah , mine bleeds anyway. It’s not consistent for me. Swish in water for 3 seconds, then lay flat for 1 minutes. It bleeds when it wants to
  10. Your cherry shrimp may have lots of hunters. You could start them first and let their population grow. If the population is big enough, they may grow faster than eaten. Should work. Also going to need an area of dense plants for hiding. Or bigger shrimp, but I don’t believe amano reproduce in fresh water (I could be wrong). Good for hair algae though. I think I’d give the cherry shrimp a go though. And cross fingers
  11. For top dwellers, rainbow fish. praecox stay smaller and school nicely. Or threadfin would be interesting (never tried them before) different low dwellers, a pair of Bolivian rams. I say more Cory’s, because I had 6 skunk corys, they hid all the time. I added 6 more, they are now literally everywhere 😀 I would say angels, but there goes your shrimp
  12. Yeah, it’s getting to be a hit or miss with big box stores bettas. I usually keep 5-6 in different tanks. They can last anywhere from a month to usually no longer than a couple years. Nowhere like they should
  13. What’s your favorite. You listed the pandas first. You could easily triple the number of pandas, and the behavior would be completely different than 6. possibly add 5 honey gourami? double the number of male guppies? most of these will work good in a shrimp tank. or if the focus is the shrimp, just wait until they populate the tank fully. I’d still add more pandas though. You can never have too many pandas
  14. I don’t really. Was just doing research on it. Hadn’t actually heard about using it to clear diseases before. But, understand about mycobacteria all too well. Costs us more money than most people can imagine. Okay, good. Probably not the Lysol then. @Colu could you think on this one a bit. Give us an idea
  15. I assume you cleaned out the Lysol really well? My understanding of it is that it is highly toxic to aquatic life. And doesn’t evaporate away, and may be very hard to get off the surface.
  16. Oh yeah, understand that completely. Have had that feeling before. They start dying, you can’t explain it. And panic sets in. Ordered in a bunch from a Florida farm. Lost every one of them. Took a month to figure it out. So, yeah, I get it. lost farm animals the same way. Complete panic, but in that case big time diseases. Unfortunately, I kinda developed some callouses that way now, but not with pets. but horribly sometimes we have to be cool and rational about it. Trust me, very hard to do when losing animals. yeah, I think give them time. Let them rest for a bit. Lower the salt to 1to 5. Keep your water very clean. Add some catalpa leaves for anti fungal and antibiotic properties. If they keep dying, and they might for a bit. Lots of stress on them in a couple of weeks, maybe try the antibiotics. and sorry about your loses. This hobby is great, but sometimes it sucks. The great is usually better than the bottom though
  17. Whoa, that’s a lot of anti parasitic meds to use in such a short time. Awfully harsh on little bodies back to back to back. Was there anything specific you were looking for? I think I would have maybe done a coarse if I suspected something. Then just observed them for a month in quarantine. Especially since all those meds do basically the same thing. Honestly, a month in quarantine with no meds would have been preferable. Just observing until you suspect something. After a month if nothing died, meds were probably not required. Now it’s just going to take time for them to hopefully rest and recover. I’d give up on the parasite meds for a bit. Maybe after a week give them a round of Maracyn if still losing some. It could have been bacterial in nature. But now definitely not parasitic in nature.
  18. usually closer to 10 when you add in substrate and wood and rock. just a nice round guess bare bottom yes 8.34lbs
  19. Mine do that quite often, usually with the gh and kh parts. i just chuck em and get another. but a hole batch would be unacceptable
  20. It might be better to run it from your garage (if you have one) and advertise it. on craigslist or some such thing. Retail locations can be crazy expensive. then all you should need is a standard business license through your secretary of state
  21. from aquarium source.com never heard of doing this, but it should work
  22. possibly this. I use hornwort on the top to protect fry. but maybe wisteria will work better on the floor. to protect shrimplets Water Wisteria Carpet Another option you have is to create a water wisteria carpet. This is our personal favorite and is being done more and more. To create a carpet you’ll simply need to flip things sideways. Instead of planting each of the stems vertically like a normal plant, you’ll lay them on their sides. Partially bury the stems but not the leaves. This is what will create the carpeted effect. You’ll want to do this with multiple plants in order to get the coverage you need. Also, trim it regularly to keep up with its growth rate and maintain the carpeted look. from https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=b71126c0a8ae207dJmltdHM9MTcxMTA2NTYwMCZpZ3VpZD0wZTU0NmFiNi1jMWZhLTY4MDYtMWIzMi03OTAyYzAyOTY5YzQmaW5zaWQ9NTI3NQ&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=3&fclid=0e546ab6-c1fa-6806-1b32-7902c02969c4&psq=water+wisteria&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuYXF1YXJpdW1zb3VyY2UuY29tL3dhdGVyLXdpc3RlcmlhLw&ntb=1
  23. he may have parasites. have you tried a sinking high protein pellet. their natural behavior is to sift through the sand substrate. my tank has angels and corys and rams and snails. the angels get vibra bites. my rams no longer touch them. they wait for the sinking pellets.
  24. we can always learn from our pets😄
  25. this was my first pump. https://www.amazon.com/VIVOSUN-Submersible-Fountain-Aquarium-Hydroponics/dp/B086QJQK8N/ref=sr_1_5_pp?crid=2Q62ZDOWP3C0F&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.OcxjxK4ttTy6v1GofU25RuK2-ogGMLi1kJYK83ds-AGHoKxJlcNAyicufhSryG3Rf3zyPBKbjZj-Fwk1wtA7LpyGPdCCWKOaUFzaAl88LaqQj9LfzYG0beTGX4FMhZE-Dt5Nb1qtctht-4XMmCBsxwIbN7Jcn4BdUdqodKOPC9DR2ZwYzJdpaVox8U65SKtVVNw1TGC8QjdYMZQXFadgbyO2BdVsDJHFelUPOGmPecUzaWyGTbXDi4Fo5d9ZfX1CBIrXWnsJxfyHImvS-iQD8p9cxmumt1xwTnKNARwi9o4.lGUudnfus7eiFvYYh1URfVHV_kVKrrqV55lDRBqGPtc&dib_tag=se&keywords=vivosun+water+pump&qid=1711138595&sprefix=vivo+sun+%2Caps%2C87&sr=8-5
