OceanTruth
Looks like Cosmo is doing well. It definitely looked like he rushed over to say, “food?” Lol.

Maggie
Cosmo's doing great so far! The dwarf water lettuce in this gif from yesterday whose roots look great? Not so much. I think the alum treatment did it in, and today it's disintegrated. I'm going to pull out some salvinia from the other tank and split it into two containers for alum treatment testing.
Maggie
I fed Cosmo live baby brine shrimp today. He wasn't very happy at first. He likes his food to stay still! "You expect me to chase those tiny white dots? Give up the pellets"! Then when he realized no other food was forthcoming, he started showing off his maneuvering skills.
OceanTruth
Very awesome that you are feeding live baby brine. I’m surprised he didn’t go for it straight away. Now that he’s got a taste for it I’m sure he’ll go nuts for it the next time.
Maggie
@OceanTruthhe actually ignored all but the few right in front of him. I added them a few at a time but once he ate a few I thought that would get him going, but no. I'm not making BBS every day as there is way too much other food here, so he might have to wait a few days!
Maggie
I finally made a YouTube channel to upload videos. Here's my very first stab at it. Cosmo is doing very well though not quite "settled in". I'm trying to figure out a possible tankmate but afraid he would be very aggressive right now. Maybe when he grows a bit and mellows out I can add a couple nerite snails and see how he does with them.
OceanTruth
You can really see his beautiful colors in the vid. Great work on the footage!
Maggie
Thanks @OceanTruth! I cut it off too soon - right after it finally focused! I had to pretend I was going to feed him, poor guy! But it was too soon after breakfast. I also have to film in sideways orientation next time.
Betsy
Cosmo is a total looker!!! His blues are really popping! 😍 Excited for more videos to come!
Maggie
Feeding time. I've only had him 2 weeks and he's already turning very blue - I'm in love with my fish!! 💙
OceanTruth
He’s definitely got more blue to him since the last vid. Very cool change.

Maggie
Cosmo is starting to relax more, but still on the go alot. I think going from a tiny bag to a tiny bowl to 10 gallons was a lot to handle. It looks like that spazzy phase is starting to come to an end - I caught him "stopping to smell the [anubias roots]" this morning! The lily still has not sprouted, though it's not soft. The crypt totally disappeared (couldn't take the alum treatment), and part of an anibias golden went bad so I pulled it (was superglued but came right off), cut off the bad part, and stuffed it into a nook rather than re-superglue (that's the surviving, slightly sorry looking piece he is investigating in pic). My Bacopa caroliniana came and is in the tank along with water sprite - he seems to like it.
OceanTruth
I’m glad to hear Cosmo is starting to settle in nicely. I hope the Bacopa Caroliniana does well for you. It’s one of my favorite plants.
Maggie
Cosmo loves to swim circles around things - the thermometer, the sponge filter bubbles, and especially his anibias plants.
OceanTruth
That’s so cute that he circles around everything. What an active boy.
Maggie
He just had to do circles around the new bacopa plant I got at my LFS. 6

Maggie
I was looking back at "old" photos of Cosmo and thought I'd compare one with a pic taken today, side by side. The transformation is almost complete. I also caught a pretty pink ramshorn in the big tank and added it to his tank - don't think he's even noticed yet! Lifeisgood
Wow what a difference! How long did it take for his colors to change?
Maggie
@Lifeisgood, only six weeks! I bought him on 2/14/21. I think it's perfectly normal but didn't expect it to be so fast.
Maggie
I've got two pink ramshorns in with Cosmo now. He was curious for just a moment and has since ignored them both. I'm so tempted to try a couple shrimp. 3
