I had a plant order come in last week where only 1 of 4 Buce survived the shipping so I agree, wait, take you time and order plants when it is ready in another month or so.

Yes and that's where I need to order from. There the only ones around that carry exactly what I want so gonna play the waiting game

So the moment you all have been waiting for. The big news! The shrimp bug just wouldn't let go and a new friend had some juvenile cherry shrimp so she brought 15 over to me today to start the new colony! Right now there just in a breeder box with a bit of plants while I acclimate them to my water parameters. My water and the water they were previously in come from the same water supply so I hope the transition to go smoothly. The tank has been set up for a solid 50 days with the snails in there the majority of the 50 days. So got mg to acclimate them slowly over the next hour or so until the temps match up. I know I said I planned on waiting longer but I think with the steps I have taken getting there new home set up they should do well.

Yay!!! This is awesome! I don’t think you’ll have a problem @TeeJay. Shrimp have such a small bioload. (Now you have some critters that will actually appreciate the banquet food blocks.)

Ok just spent the last 90 mins drip acclimating the new shrimpy friends to there new water. They did very well. Just added them into the tank from the breeder box they were in. I turned off the lights so they can relax and enjoy there new home in peace. We will check back in the morning and see how there doing. As well this morning I split up one almond leaf and added it to the tank so it can soak and sink for them to snack on

Shrimps have been in there new home 24 hours now.  A few have been out and about. Some hiding in the Java moss mat. Gave them just one Xtreme shrimpee stick in there dish just to start with for today. I dont expect them to eat much right now while still getting used to there new home. But I am very happy with how the tank has turned out so far. As the weather cools down I will be ordering more fun plants and things for there home.

Is that a little mystery snail on the filter? Also I believe I spot a bladder snail.

I’m trying to find the shrimp but it’s like playing Where’s Waldo? Maybe next time you drop in a boiled veggie we will see all the shrimp.

Those are bladder snails on the filter and front bottom glass from @Guppysnail. Just the two mystery snails in the tank up front and center. Yes the shrimpy's are kind of hiding right now. I'm sure the more they get used to the tank they will come out more.

Will the shrimp eat boiled veggies too?

@TeeJayfirst off congratulations! You’ve been super patient and it’s an excellent build.

Yes, they will eat boiled vegetables. I don’t leave them in for more than 8-12 hours.

Thankyou my good man. It was worth the wait. I can wait to see how they grow and start having little shrimpletts in hopefully a couple of months.

They look like they are settling in very nicely.

So far so good. Looking forward to the upcoming weeks to see how they progress. Hopefully we will have some shrimpletts come fall!

Good morning all. It's breakfast time in the TeeJay house. Got some pics of the shrimpy's this morning. Yes the camera on my phone stinks so sorry for the por pic quality. It was breakfast time. The shrimpy's didn't seem interested. Sooo flotsam and jetsam said " Well Dad if they don't want it we will partake in the Xtreme shrimpy sticks" and hopped right into the feeding dish together. Only in my house.
