You will be pleased that I FINALLY invested in an algae scraper. The ol magfloat just wasn’t cutting it. Neither was a plastic credit-type card. I chose this one because I can easily buy replacement blades for super cheap at the hardware store. But it did come with a bunch of blades, so I doubt I’ll need to for awhile.

Going forward, photos of critters should be better. 🙂

You’re not the only one who has to steer clear of diatoms when taking pics. 😅

When you see a tank in the thrift store and your brain starts going haywire thinking how you can bring it to life…😵‍💫

That Marineland filter was barely used at all! And you know how loyal I am to Marineland! 😍🥰

Alas, I walked away. It’s a cheap aquaculture kit tank. Been there, done that, it leaked.

I was going nuts being cooped up too much. Exam is in two weeks, but I’m scoring well on practice, so I called a friend and we took a spontaneous trip to Bok Tower Gardens.

The tower was constructed in 1929 out of coquina, and it sits on the highest point in FL. The carillonneur played the carillon live at 3:00. Beautiful. Mr. Bok dedicated his life to conservation.

Thank you for sharing those beautiful pictures. I’m glad you took time to recharge and do something enjoyable.
Stress lessens what we retain. So hopefully your break will help you ace your scores 🤗

Thanks 🙏

I actually feel much more rejuvenated and calm. Now if I can just get out of the fishroom… 🤣

My friend offered me guppy fry.. population would not be an issue bc tetras. Gups would add a pop of color. Thoughts?

Well, that is hard to say. I keep my endlers with bettas. Zero fry has been eaten by 3 bettas by now 😄

I know cause I count them like a psychopath LMAO

 fry....

my 2 cents. I have plans to bring my guppy fry to my fall fish auction. Having a plan is important since only one of mine had fry so far and i have 10 fry. The other female is bigger so...haha. Backup tubs in case my tanks are overwhelmed.

I love Bok Tower! Loved Cypress Gardens, too… but sadly it’s now Legoland.

I did not realize that! I thought they were 2 separate venues. Cypress Gardens was beautiful.

What do you plan to do with your fry....

Grow them into adults to add some beauty to the community of silver colored fish 🙂

They’d be in a breeder box until they aren’t so bite sized.

Was not planning on breeding them. If I grow these fry (probably just a trio of fry, not a ton) to adults and they give birth, the 18 tetras in the tank would most definitely eat the new fry.

I joined the forum about a year ago, and this is what my tank looked like. (The sand was literally just added before the photo was taken. So clean! Heh.) It’s a cap to the old gravel.

This is what it looks like now.

My fish behave so much differently with live plants and driftwood. They are mating frequently, and weaving in and out of the plants. They love it.
