Chick-In-Of-TheSea
I have a drip irrigation system. It works well! @Shadow Re: Key West They always get hit hard with hurricanes too. And the only way out of there is on a suuuuper long bridge, and if traffic is bad, you’re stuck there for hours. It’s a beautiful view though. The best part of the road trip. The ol magfloat just wasn’t cutting it. Neither was a plastic credit-type card. I chose this one because I can easily buy replacement blades for super cheap at the hardware store. But it did come with a bunch of blades, so I doubt I’ll need to for awhile. Going forward, photos of critters should be better. 🙂 You’re not the only one who has to steer clear of diatoms when taking pics. 😅

Chick-In-Of-TheSea
When you see a tank in the thrift store and your brain starts going haywire thinking how you can bring it to life…😵💫 That Marineland filter was barely used at all! And you know how loyal I am to Marineland! 😍🥰 Alas, I walked away. It’s a cheap aquaculture kit tank. Been there, done that, it leaked. 1
TheSwissAquarist
At 14.99! Bargain. I’d turn it into an overflow shrimp tank if I had enough shrimp…😂
Chick-In-Of-TheSea
I was going nuts being cooped up too much. Exam is in two weeks, but I’m scoring well on practice, so I called a friend and we took a spontaneous trip to Bok Tower Gardens. The tower was constructed in 1929 out of coquina, and it sits on the highest point in FL. The carillonneur played the carillon live at 3:00. Beautiful. Mr. Bok dedicated his life to conservation. Chick-In-Of-TheSea
Geppetto is getting a tank upgrade soon. I made some kind of a thing for it. he was going to get this but too many snag points even with sanding, so this will go to the 29, to take the place of this resin one I “planted” Edited May 21, 2023 by Chick-In-Of-TheSea 3

Grow them into adults to add some beauty to the community of silver colored fish 🙂 They’d be in a breeder box until they aren’t so bite sized. On 5/21/2023 at 6:33 PM, Cmike15 said: my 2 cents. Backup tubs in case my tanks are overwhelmed. Was not planning on breeding them. If I grow these fry (probably just a trio of fry, not a ton) to adults and they give birth, the 18 tetras in the tank would most definitely eat the new fry.

Chick-In-Of-TheSea
I joined the forum about a year ago, and this is what my tank looked like. (The sand was literally just added before the photo was taken. So clean! Heh.) It’s a cap to the old gravel. This is what it looks like now. My fish behave so much differently with live plants and driftwood. They are mating frequently, and weaving in and out of the plants. They love it. Chick-In-Of-TheSea
Here is an example of how live plants changed my fish’s behavior. I never saw this prior. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_uTjqOa7VHpcqpSL7ChH786IcFPIxgn2/view?usp=drivesdk
