Have you ever thought about giving them some ‘easy’ spots to lay eggs? (Easy for you to collect)

Well, I do that. I keep my waterline dropped so they can slide up there and lay the eggs. York (the gold one) has been helpful, she would lay eggs on the front glass.

I have the baffle because with the waterline dropped the outflow was noisy.

I like how you name snails 😂

LOL!

York is the big gold one ( York because she's the big apple [snail] )

Hampshire is the Zebra nerite.

Button is the olive nerite.

Bon Bon, C3PO, Woodstock (because my Bolivian Ram is Snoopy), and Goliath are gold mystery snails.  Goliath is a little bitty runt snail that stays the same size.

Dodger is the blue snail that was getting picked on by sword tails and the big box store; he is a rescue. He couldn't open up or he'd get attacked.  And Nibbles is the littlest of all; I don't even know what kind of snail he is.  He looks like a mystery snail but he's like a little peppercorn that also never grows.  He came in on some moss that I bought.

I haven't named all the magentas yet except for one, the guy, who is always, ya know, "in the mood" - his name is Romeo.

So basically this is their version of licking the plate.

And I did want to remove this sooner. But there were always snails on it. So they will remove it. 🙃

I’ve never tried cabbage. It’s on the shopping list. 🤗

Big news!  I’m feeling blue and I’m dreaming..

I’m nervous guys, seriously. Over the past month or two I’ve been to stores looking at shrimp and every time I walked away. They look so fragile. You’ll help me right? I’m out of my element here!

P.S. you think my black neon in there would be ok with them?

Absolutely!  I promise you'll do absolutely fine.  Snails are harder sometimes and snails are easy.

Shrimp are the unsung joy of many hobbyists fishrooms.  Amanos are like little soldier ants that never make a peep, but keep so many tanks going without needing or asking for much!

How is acclimation going? Slow method, right?

any nano fish would be fine. Barbs can get a bit pecky. Neons are generally fine / passive. Something like a skirt tetra might get picky, but it's not going to do much to the shrimp if they have cover.  Once you get into angelfish and that sort of a behavior... then I'd worry.  My tiger barbs just ignored them and went after eachother. Didn't even pay attention to the shrimp, except for the moment food hit and the amanos wanted their food.

Your going to do great. They are very hearty little creatures. I can't wait for my colony to keep growing so I can't put some in each of my tanks. I love to sit and drink my coffee in the mornings and watch them get going for the day. They always seem the most active when the lights come on and get the day started.

Alright we just finished 90 minute drip acc and here’s the release.

That's awesome. That's literally the "hard part" of shrimp.  You're done.  Make sure tank has a lid because it's new to them and they will explore a bit.  Beyond that, just enjoy.

That’s my goal if we can get a colony going.  I want to add them to each tank possible.
