  1. Interesting. My 40b has twin wall it doesn’t have any buildup in it no mold or algae.
  2. I was thinking something along the same lines, thanks for the feedback. I’ve used some of his videos for reference before
  3. The tape trick is good I like it. I have an assortment of jig saw blades but none for circular. Hopefully I can take good measurements and get a template to copy lines. Hope I have a steady hand lol
  4. I have minimal moisture getting into the channels I’m not terribly concerned. I bought 60 hinges and 30 plastic door knobs. It will be a lot of super glue lol
  5. Going to cut lids for 23 aquariums today. It’s the thick twin wall. I don’t have a table saw anymore. So I ask what’s my second best option for cutting? Utility blade can cut through one layer obviously but it would be slow. I do have a jig saw. secondly if I was to drill a 1 inch feeding hole in every aquarium how much effectiveness in reducing humidity would I sacrifice? Every lid will be hinged but opening that many aquariums takes time.
  6. Got the 2 ten gallon racks lights hung. I measured to get them pretty close to flush and parallel to the wall but hey im going for speed on this leg lol. I like these lights and the power consumption is great. also empty aquariums are great for holding supplies. I dropped my impact driver in an aquarium and miraculously it didn’t crack
  7. Ain’t that the truth. I know that I should of just shaved off the bottom or the top of the dado didn’t occur to me at the time. Lol
  8. Tried to fix this rack for 20 longs. The aquariums rock pretty horribly from front to back cause the rails somehow aren’t flush. I recall that this rack specifically was made with leftover 2x4 that was below grade/had no stamp. After thinking about it entirely too much and trying to doctor it I decided I would go spend 20 bucks and rebuild it. I will make sure my dado cuts are spot on. I believe I made my cuts slightly tight then did blade lengths til they fit snug. I believe I made those said extra cuts on either the top or bottom of each dado which I believe caused the unevenness. Lesson learned.
  9. Free Great Dane come get her LOL. 6 month old puppy. it’s good enough for me! I’ve learned so much. Working on hooking the lights up currently. Barrina led will work just fine for my needs
  10. My buddy always says that lol. I forgot that was red green. Unfortunately I’m pretty busted and only have moderate skills lol. But I’m willing to learn and make mistakes
  11. It’s duct tapes much more attractive close relative lol
  12. few things to show, not sure if it falls under being interesting. Budget holster for temp gun, this is a pretty fun tool and seems to calibrated well and functional This rack is god awful not level not sure how my dado cuts on the left side were so off. I’m going to have to pull it apart and give it a blade length or two of a cut and then put back together. 3 20 longs isn’t the heaviest thing in the world but it’s really frustrated me with this rack in particular. I intend on painting this side panel to hide cords started installing cheap barrina led shop lights. 4 footer is 20 watts and the 2 is 10. Low consumption and heat and a great budget solution. Good hanging hardware. Not best spectrum or build quality. Makes it real easy to keep my wattage low and they link together
  13. Not certain I haven’t seen anyone do that to my knowledge but I think you don’t have to treat air like you would water. I believe the cavity just gets filled with air pressure and to me I would think it flows freely. Don’t quote me LOL. I will have maybe 6 90 degree elbows I can’t see it being a problem.
  14. A loop below the inlet is rather genius. I could put it up high but honestly room is so small there’s no great place. Could you possibly just do a ball valve and periodically open it?
  15. It’s going to be much slower from this point. This weekend is either cutting all the polycarbonate for the lids and attaching hinges and knobs or installing the air pump. I put outlet faceplates on but didn’t take pictures. I thought I got the depth right but wrong! LOL. They are a 1/8+ of an inch too deep. I’m not fixing it, it’s more than sufficient for my purposes. But next time I would take a second loose before I fasten. I used a longer screw and they are on few toys trickling in controller for exhaust. I suppose I could of done a hard wire one with stat but I like gadgets and this can be used for other applications
  16. Update nothing huge to report. I was able to get all I think I need for plumbing, outlet covers and polycarbonate for the lids. Bunch of packages sitting at post office. Most all work will be postponed to the weekend.
  17. I’m struggling to find a fitting that goes from the pump to my 1 inch pvc. I feel panicked lol
  18. The instructions for the metal air valve is to predrill with 3/16 bit. I can’t find the video with dean actually sinking the same valves, anyone able to link it?
  19. I appreciate the feedback regardless. Great information. Sadly I’m back at work/between jobs and can’t make the lighting fast progress I made the two weeks prior LOL. Thankfully I’m done with all the loud ground work so now I can work in the night when my kids and wife are sleeping
  20. Can you get that muffler piece from Home Depot? I will install this as part of my system but from what everyone is saying I think I will be ok without one but why not collect good information and have it in line if it’s not hurting anything
  21. I didn’t think of it in these terms this is very insightful. He still needs a lot of assistance not the most steady hand but I will include him when I can
