@laritheloud Thank you! This is my first aquarium and from doing research, I have come to really love inverts! I can't wait to get the snails and then some shrimp. Eventually I will get the cpds and corys too!

My worry about all those nerite snails in a 16 gallon is that they won't have enough food to sustain themselves. They are biofilm and algae eaters, and I bet two nerites would be more than enough to clean your tank. You might want to slim down your nerite snail population. I'm not sure about the other snails so much as I don't own any of them myself, but if they will eat supplemental food, then they are probably safer to keep than a lot of nerites in a 16 gallon.
Okay then I may just keep the red racer, batik, and king koopa. The other snails will eat vegetables and algae wafers.

@Cys aquatics I would rather get rid of some cpds or shrimp
-
@Cys aquatics I would like to keep as many snails as I could

@Cys aquatics Oops! Didn't specify haha. Inches! I wish it were feet!

After thinking it through, I definitely want to add some corys to my new 16 gal. It's 24"x 12"x 14". This is my stocking idea list:
20 Celestial Pearl Danios
20 Neocaridina davidii "Blue Dream"
3 Otocinclus vittatus
1 Red Racer Nerites Snail
1 Batik Nerite Snail
3 Zebra Thorn Nerite Snails
1 Black Devil Snail
1 Cappuccino Snail
1 White Wizard Snail
1 King Koopa Nerite Snail
1 Yellow Giant Sulawesi Rabbit Snail
With these creatures in mind, what would you take away or lower numbers on so I can have a group of corys? I'm thinking Corydoras panda as a strong option.

@Irene Oh awesome! Both look phenomenal! Huge fan of you and your work 😁😁😁

I want to find an app or online spreadsheet so I can catalog my aquarium information. I want to do daily temps, feedings, stocking, health, pH, parameters, all that. Does anyone know where I can find something like this?

@CorydorasEthan I would LOVE that! So the aquarium is 24 inches long and 12 inches tall. The wood piece is 24 inches long and goes about 1 inch below the top of the tank. There's are 3 big bahai stones and I have some seiryu stone rubble for detail. I want to put alder cones on the bottom for some added tannins. Some plants I want are crypts (your choice!), some Hygrofila corymbosa (I think that's what it is called), some mosses on the wood, and a few epiphytes. Feel free to add some plants ideas that you like as well! I am still looking for some planting ideas.

@CorydorasEthan Yo....that drawing is SICK!!! You are so talented! I can't even draw the rectangle for the tank 🤣 thank you so much! Could I get a hold of you somehow to do a drawing with some plants I want to put in?

@James Black I forgot to mention that the wood piece actually spans the whole length of the aquarium. The aquarium is 24 inches long and so its the wood piece 🙂

@Patrick_G That is nice! I may be wrong, but is this her "Shy Guy" tank?

@Patrick_G Unfortunately, no. I bought it at a LFS so I don't know the history.
-
@MAC Yo! That looks awesome as well! Thank you for doing that 🙂
-
Holy crap, @James Black! That looks sweet! I will probably have some corkscrew val and/or hygrophila corymbosa in the back, a few epiphytes, and some crypts. That looks like an awesome image! Thank you for doing that!

I don't quite know why the images are upside down lol

@Yanni I figured that may be it. I found this at a LFS and liked the curves and archway 🙂
-
@Mitch Norton Okay thank you!

@RockMongler That sounds SUPER interesting to watch! I will keep that in mind if I go with hillstreams. Thank you!

@RockMongler Oh wow! So I know Otos like to be with more of their own kind. Can you keep hillstreams by themselves?

@Brandy I plan to make algae covered rocks outside of the aquarium and place them in the aquarium daily. Also am going to feed veggies.
-
@Brandy I would probably get 3 at most.
-
Alright! Poll time! Which algae eater would you put in a 16 gallon aquarium?
Otocinclus vittatus
Or
Reticulated Hillstream Loach

@laritheloud Ahhh yeah...you may not have any shrimp left lol. Expensive snacks!
All the creatures i'm stocking are friendly. The cpds and corys may take the odd shrimplet but I have a feeling i'll have a good yield of shrimplets so I won't lose too many. Plus, I am going to be feeding every one very well!
