  1. A true linear pump will be the best, but you really can't find smaller sized ones that I have found. My issue with buying a pump that big is the noise from bleeding off all the extra air I am not using. Having that constant back pressure in the air lines from what i heard read/heard eventually kills our pumps so i have always been forced to look for smaller options. I have 15 aquariums and running this little pump is really quiet and does the job very well. They do make different sizes but i have only personally used the AL-15A ALITA Linear Air Pump - 10 ~ 30 LPM
  2. they will be fine for about 8 months to a year. sorta depends on how fast they grow or mature into adults, but the only issue you might see is if a male/female pair up together. Then that pair will be super aggressive to the others. If they don't actually pair off then you shouldn't have any issues.
  3. Yeah it was a fun experience . Meanwhile the parents have laid 2 clutches but I didn't have tank space to even bother trying to deal with them . Lol I guess more tanks are in our future .
  4. A little update on the Angels . They are getting close to market size . They ended up being the black dominate color from their parents .
  5. Colors may be a little on the lighter side but not horrible . Maybe the med trio has him a little stressed/tired . I wouldn't panic, just watch him closely for a few days and see how it goes .
  6. A little humor for the hobby . Not to the point of eating gravel but I will admit to dreaming about the next tank setup . 😂🤷🏻‍♂️
  7. Keep at it . We find our cories will eat the eggs before we can separate them. Good luck The parents are a pair that paired off from our main display tank . We had purchased about 10-12 young angels then we ended up with 3 breeding pairs . We have had a bunch of eggs laid and got them to the wiggler stage but would die after that . Our lives are pretty busy normally but recently we have had a little extra time ( example I was able to come home a couple times a week) so extra water changes in the breeder box etc and we were able to get them past that wrigglers stage. The picture is the pair that these fry came from. A Silver and Marble .
  8. Yes the eggs layers are much different to deal with than east livebearers 😂.
  9. Well after just a few egg hatching to wrigglers stage we have finally have got them to swimming fry . Crossing our fingers we can keep it up . They are about 2 weeks at this point . Apologies for the busy picture . I just fed baby brine shrimp.
  10. Angels are pretty docile until they pair off and want to start mating, so just keep that in mind for your smaller fish. Sounds like your ideas for your tank are on the right track. Add your favorite species of Corydoras and a small species of Pleco for your bottom dwellers. You have a good start on your community tank.
  11. Gratz. Def a exciting time when new tanks are in the house.
  12. I think keeping it smaller would be my route . I mean as others have pointed out the woodwork is great . Something larger may take away from the wood as the focal point .
  13. It's not really about right/wrong . We just having a convo about our common hobby. I had just read a few peoples concerns about the longevity of these heaters . I was thinking it may ease some peoples minds of example they were running the controllers . Really for 25 bucks it is a fairly inexpensive. But yup No worries Tihahho . We are just two individuals in the honby having a convo of our ideas/thoughts . Salute Sir . 👊🏻
  14. In Corey's Video he is quoted as saying" The heater is tracking how long it is plugged in" so that is what I understood. If you are correct then yes my idea/thoughts aren't valid.
  15. Great news !! We will order a couple for sure as spares for the next failure, or next tank. I think of something and didn't notice it mentioned in the threads as I read through them. Some of us are using heater/chiller controllers. Example Inkbirds series of heater/chiller controllers. So if a person is using this type set-up the heater "odometer/hour meter" only counts when the controller sends power to the heater. So the lifespan would be significantly longer in those cases.
  16. Not sure what had got them this active so early tonight but we have a mass exodus of sorts ( bottom of the tank to the top ) 😂😂
  17. Pogostemon Stellatus Octopus Lol That is def the culprit . Trimmed and planted cuttings into a 40 gallon breeder with guppies, pea puffers and corys Accidentally posted my reply to you in another questions ... see below just incase . Trimmed and replanted cuttings in another tank . Now to Waite for roots .
  18. Thanks Colu . As with us all they are a work in progress .
  19. 🙋🏻‍♂️... 8.3 right out of the tap . We don't even try and fight it . We been raising livebearers for months . "Edited" wait you meant hardness"
  20. Agreed . Anything living needs its normal food source
  21. Not fully sure what happened but there Seem to be a party in the tank this afternoon while we were gone . Aquarium co op decor has fallen over . Yeah ... yeah ... time to get in there for a little pruning . Sundays are tank days
